  1. Hmmm sounds like you could like karate, btw how old are you because 5'11" 180 isn't large or an adult
  2. Really you were there? I was planning on going but I didn't know when the thing was over so I didn't know when to tell my dad to pick me up. You got any foootage or can you tell me who won what? Btw what school do you got to?
  3. I wouldn't even consider going to that dojo.
  4. SD I don't think that was the right thing to do, it seems to me that you went over the limit.
  5. Well my dad said unless I find out what time the tornument I was planning on going to tonight is over I can't go. It starts at 7, how long do you guys think it will last sense eliminations were at 10 and all they're doing at 7 is finals and demonstartions.
  6. Wow man that's deep, you mind if I use it at the club to pick up women? j/k
  7. I got a question, what do you do once you've reached tenth dan?
  8. Have you ever seen those shows where someone is scared and they think someone is in there house and they yell out " I know karate" even thought they dont'. I think it's kind of like that anyone can say they know karate for either intimidation or to let people know that they should mess with them, but because of all the people lieing people wnat it to be proved. My advice just dont' care, martial arts isn't about pride or boasting rights, it's about slef defense and humility. I myself dont' like to tell a lot of people that I do martial arts because I feel that if I do I'll become a target.
  9. Well my friend is a 6th dan, and his sensai trained under a 8th dan, but nope I haven't seen any 10th dans.
  10. Wait, what are some good stretches for my shoulders, arms, pecs, ect... evertyhign invlovled in this exercise.
  11. I can't rember the exact age. I know I had to be under 7. But I quit after two classes (immature 7 yeard old in karate, good idea).
  12. It's not just ki. They teach fighting techniques too, they just spend a lot of time on ki.
  13. ^ I can't, they're kind of always in class.
  14. Oh, great explanation jmy, thanks.
  15. Hee while you guys sit arguing I stock up on links.
  16. I'll be for japanese termonology next year when I leard it, for now I'm going to stick with the words I can pronounce and understand.
  17. Well has anyone seen enter the dragon? You know where they are having the competition? I'm trying to mimic that.
  18. Well I was over at my fried's house and saw him hitting the punching bag. I also saw him do a reverse punch, but instead of hitting with his fist he hit it with is palm. Does it hurt more if you hit them with the palm, or just whats the advantage of doing that?
  19. ^ Alright, I was just asking because I was curious in what it was and if my dojo might have had it.
  20. Alright thanks you guys. I'll be sure to remember this when I work out tonight.
  21. Well I think the reason there is no ground fighting, is because your not suposed to wind up on the ground. The punches to the face, probably has something to do with the head being a hard target. The thing about sparring, totally untru. I went to my dojo on sunday. They can choose at what level they want to sparr, and what leverl of realism they want. BBJ probably could give a lot of students a probelm, because they weren't trained to deal with ground attacks. In the concept of self defense, how often is the average joe going to start doing BJJ on you?
  22. Just to give you anothe rstyle to look at, shudokan
  23. HAHAHA oh wait are you serious? Well there is a dummie book for everything.
