Luckly I don't sweat profuseley I don't have to worry about odor. So yeah now I can use my treadmil.
-
Well I'm going on a tour of the two main dojos in my town pretty soon. I'd like to know is there anything I could do there to get an idea of how good the instruction is? Everyone is telling me to go with the style that has the best instruction, and well so I was wondering is there anything I could do to judge the instruction without jumping back and forth from schools trying to find the right one once I get started. Alright thanks for your help.
-
I like the treadmil beacuse with traditional running you run somewhere but you have to go back.
-
Should I run on a treadmill? I've been running outside, the only probelm well kids from my school live around here, and well kids are cruel. I want to run inside and we already have a teadmil. So shoudl I use it?
-
Well I've thought about it for a mintue and I came but with this analasys. Tornuments(non point scoring): Full contact Tornuments(point scoring):Point Self Defense: either, the average person would probably be sucumed by one blow Tell if this is accurate.

Well at first glance it would seem that actually fighting would be better. My idea of point sparring you get hit once and your finished. I don't think a real fight works like that, if you were to actually fight a true martial artsist woudln't they be able to take a lot of punishment? Plus your not really practicing hitting a human target, sure you may train with bags, but humans react a lot differently then heavy bags or makiwara boards. The only reason I even think dojos do point sparring is because they're afraid someone will get hurt. There is only one dojo in my area I don't know what there sparring situation is, but the rest are point sparring. I guess point sparring would be good for self defense, because the average person probably would be devistated by a good kick or punch. But a fellow martial artist woudlnt' be. So competition full contact sparring, self defense point sparring should be fine. Now before anyone goes and instults me this is purley a first glance no expirience theroy. BTW can you do full contact sparring effectivley with a friend, or do you need a instructor there? Or if your friend is a black belt could he count as an instructor?

Anyone got good excuses for a hole in the wall?

^ LMAO Intresting you said that because I actually punch right over a stud, that is the only reason there is a dent in the wall and not a massive hole. I have pannleing, followed by plaster, followed by drywall. -
I want to get the snot beat out of though, I'll be better faster if I do it that way. Plus I was really looking forward to entering tornuments, someone I talked to on aim went to the latest tornument here, he beat all the shodukan students with ease. That's probably because they did point sparrying.

I'm still kind of looking for information abotu different styles. It turns out the shudokan school only does point sparring :-|. There is only one other japanese style dojo in town, and it teachers Goju-ryu. Anyone know anything about this style?
-
Well the only other japanese style karate dojo in town, I don't really like the instructor. I talked to him over the phone and he kind of freaked me out, plus it soudned like it costs a lot because he woudln't tell me how much it cost over the phone.
-
Well i'm pissed off right now because I just figured out that the dojo I planned going to doesn't do full contact sparring. They do point sparring.
-
Well I mean the dojo is point sparring, but would it be aginst the rules if me an my partner agreed to do full contact? BEcause of all the things I've heard from people point sparring isn't good, plus I really amd trying to learn how to fight. It's like mikelw talkign about he beat the shudokan guys with ease, I bet anything it was because they did point sparring.
-
Well I mean is point sparring that bad? Because the shcool that I wanted to go to is point sparring. The other school, I'm not sure about it but they sensai kind of scares me he's like way too intense, when I was speaking with him on the phone I kind of wanted to just hange up. I woudldn't be able to learn with him. And the kenpo thing, well it's american kenpo, I thought it was going to be traditional kenpo and well I don't really want to take it anymore.
-
alright

Why are ingrown toenails embarassing?
-
Well I've been calling around the schools to ask some questions about them, styles, sparring, cost such and such. The Goju school I'm not sure about the sparring I forgot to ask ,but it seemed as though it costs a lot of money because he woudln't tell me the price over the phone, he said that I should come down and see for myself. The shudokan I know has a great reputation because of the sensai Moriss Mack. The price is 50 a month, and it's point sparring. The kenpo I really don't have any information on it, I lost the phone book that had it's number. I know for one thing that calling the Goju school asking questions I felt uncomforatble talking to it's sensai, so I'm leaning toward shduokan beacseu I'm very comfortable talking to him. Can anyone help me?
-
Well I just called my dojo to ask if they did full conatct sparring. They said that they do point sparring because of the novice to advanced ratio(whatever that means). Should I be turned off of this school because of this?

Luckly my room is a mess, so I just said I tripped, i have to pay for new panneling though -
Well I've been on a diet and excercising for about two weeks now. I've lost three pounds. Really I want to know how much I'll probably lost by may, and when i shoudl really start noticing thing slike endurance and such.
-
Seems a little anemic to me, you should probably ask your doctor to recomend a diet for you, either that or a pediatrition.
