  1. Hail Brother! I am Sparticus! My core style is Shorin Ryu too; you are very welcome.
  2. Go to where the smokers congregate; feel how their very selves seem to be seeped in the nicotine toxin; drink pure water and taste your food again.
  3. Enough said! [/img]https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t1.0-9/p235x350/10402551_538034449640151_8840209337684745938_n.jpg
  4. If you want to kick hard; cut out the weights completely; just do push ups with your hands the on ball and walk 2 miles up and down hills every day. Bulky legs will prevent power; they require more energy to use. You just need a powerful core and the balance of a dancer. Why do you think the British Gurkha terrify the meat monkeys of the US army?
  5. Don't get Hit! Do unto others before the do unto you! Bless them and run away! Keep your weight forward! Keep your feet! Move Forward even as you Retreat! Look to the Far Mountain! Always Look Eye! Don't think Feel! If all else fails; kick it hard!!! Osu!!
  6. Does anyone think that Karate and Aikido are compatible to cross train with eachother? I have 25 years in Karate and my knees are already suffering, I find the mind set relaxing and the attitude refreshing in my new style of Aikido. Does any one think I can train them together?
  7. Okinawan Cut? I have one; it's a 12oz WMA Okinawa, £25 from amazon; not posh but does a good job.
  8. Hi Les, I'm also in the UK; I'm training and living in North Wales; I practice Karate and Aikido. I'm pleased to welcome you and wish you a good time here.
  9. I've just joined a local traditional Aikido club. Everyone wares a white bet, and that's for ever. Only the acting Sensei can ware a black belt even though most of the members have 10 years plus years under their belts. I attended a course there yesterday; there was hundreds of years of experience on the floor with only the course sensei and their senpai in hakama; and those had white belts too. I asked for he reason from a yudansha from Ireland; "We don't sell Ego here son." he said. I thanked an elder member for his tuition, he was from Holland; "Don't call me Sensei; I'm a beginner in life as you are." These guys have blown me away.
  10. Tonight was a very positive experience; High Light - Meeting real martial artists. Low point - being corrected for "Admiring your Technique" by one of the elder masters. Over all I can't wait to go back.
  11. I would try and use appropriate force to defend myself; in Kumite, control; but in a life threaten-er; no mercy. ;
  12. Well as the Saying goes "If you can't beat them, join them!" I've just joined a local Aikido club; The Sensei is a good one, so I believe it may pay off. watch this space.
  13. The most important step is always the first; well done!
  14. If he has Kime like he sings, he must have great focus. Well done you old cowboy crooner!
  15. Most of our belts are made by Blitz Uk, I have an old satin one though.
  16. Thank you for Sharing Sensei
  17. Hello and welcome!
  18. If you want an honest answer???? They are the same style!!!
  19. I live in a mountainous area, so my cardio is done by the time I get to the gym!
  20. Have a Good time! Happy Birthday!
  21. I have a Dyslexic student; he defiantly isn't slow, he just learns differently. He's been bullied by his peers because of his apparent disability, but he walks tall from the Dojo now. I have the same condition myself.
  22. As was said; if you form good fists you should be fine
  23. Kayokoshin don't allow punches to the head; I form a vertical fist with contact with seiken for a long fist head shot; then again Short range; a flurry of wing chun style sun fists don't go amiss.
