Is it realistic to train for multiple attackers?
shinka replied to JiuJitsuNation's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Did a lot of Randori multiple attackers fights when I was practicing Ninjutsu. It's very good when it's done well...They have to attack fast and not wait like the idiots in the movies.... the one in the middle need to strike fast and K.O each opponent (not for real but almost).... and move on to the next one etc... if we were hit with a knife (rubber)....depending where we were hit..we were allowed to keep on going if it wasn't a killing blow. Lots of cardio! but was pretty cool! -
I did Shorin Ryu for almost 2 years, couple years ago. Like you said it was great for kicks and punches but not many technic to go after that... I've turned to many different styles and now I'm practicing Hapkido. I prefer the fact that it's 6 martial arts into one...So you can defend yourself in any kind of situation...ground,standing etc... Over 3800 technic in total (not kidding) I'm ripping my hair off sometime at my belt exams lol BUT... Every type of martial art as it's good and it's bad. Some will be better in some style than others etc... Just need to complete your training with some stuff you may want to be more complete in...like bits of ground fighting. Maybe adding Jujitsu etc...

i've been collecting weapons for over 15 years. Have most of them. Regarding which one to buy to practice....well, get to try them all at your dojo and you'll see what you like etc... They are all very different so... Still the most common first weapon to train with is the bo (bong).

Tomasz Kuszewicz the one using the japanese style is a master in Aikido,Iaido and kendo so it's probably Kendo that he's using.... He's adapting to the other guy using European style

lots of good infos..thanks -
At my dojang...and all the other schools I've trained before... We were never allowed to drink during the class..unless you pass out or glycemic problem etc.... oviously We could before and after for sure... I think it's like many said before me... Just a question of respect. STILL...Some school have different rules and it's perfectly fine. We just have to deal with the rules of our dojo(dojang) etc... I even saw once on a video...A master chewing his gum on the mat. I WOULD GET KILLED FOR THAT!

Your opinion doesn't matter unless you're a black belt

no one has the absolute knowledge... We will learn forever...If it's not in technics, it will be in wisdom... Everyone should share their ideas etc... BUT...a lower rank should do it with proper respect. -
Does anyone knows an amazing toe stretch workout??? I have some foot problems and broked many toes in my life. My toes don't bend that good and when i break board...well it's risky! I know the basic toes exercise but was wondering if there's any special one..maybe in yoga etc... ? What do I have to lose to ask? lol

Well, I would suggest you get both. Use the heavy one to practice the kata and perform with the rattan bo, as it is a bit lighter. Not only do you get a cool design, but it will be faster. Like he said.... the best way.....use the heavy one to practice and show off with the light and pretty one..... it's the magic trick....

Home Study Courses (don't laugh!)
shinka replied to survivalist's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
it's my opinion but I don't think you can succeed in a martial art just by home study.... lack of so many basics... If you want to learn some fighting moves, get in shape etc...YES it's possible. Many dvds of TAE BO.... Cardio boxing and kickboxing are available and are very good for what they do. You will learn kicks, punches, lots of cardio etc... If you want to go in a complex martial art...well like i said... No so sure. Anyway, it's my opinion only so... Wish you the best of luck. -
in hoshinkido... if you're an active black belt in another discipline...you even jump to green belt (but....it's as a respect title) you have to climb the ladder too but won't pay for the belts etc.... so yes they jump but they still need to learn everything oviously
