  1. hum... that sounds like a good idea... that will for sure speed up my punches and defenses... but wut about the foot work? Bruce lee said that: If you have a good footwork, your arms and legs will respond to that... to me: that's kinda true... the feet are to me, 70% important to the kizami zuki ( chasing punch ), or the oi zuki (left puch with the left leg in fronto for example ), some say that to have an eficient oi zuki, u have to punch and them roll your hips and automatically your leg will move.. wut do u guys think bout that 2? i dunno.. at this moment i'm really concerned about my footwork and how to improve that... thanx!

Hi... can anyone help me on some speed exercises... i'm feelin so damn slow... is jumpin w/ or without a rope good for speed? is walkin a good exercise to gain speed ( I walk 40 minutes everyday when I come home from college hehehehehehe ) I dunno.. cause i do a few exercises w/ a dumbell, but I can only work out the upper part of the body, and I feel if I only work the upper side, the leg and speed will be affected, so i kinda wonder if there's a few leg exercises and stuff... If you guys already know a topic about that please share! thanx! sorry bout the bad english...

  4. Tell me about it! I was so lost as u are when he said about the Square for movimentation... it sucks... i specially didn't like... i like to fight in the kumite freely to move as I want, not in some geometrical forms...
  5. Have anyone heard of the square and triangle movimentation? The ones that you have to move as if you were in a square and stuff... I am taking shotokan classes at saturdays and mondays... and he always says the we have to explore the square movimentation... but just couldn't figure how to do that? if anyone can help me in any kinda of way, i'd apreciate! and if u guys could, i'd be good to mention your opinion about this, if u think is good or not and stuff.. thanx a lot! People say that Ki gives you more power and speed... it's also good cause using it the right way, the blows you take won't hurt so much, u won't get tired easily... there's an art called Chi Kung, where de people can bend iron bars with the neck... do a lot of interestin things... it's worth trying to look for some Chi kung information.... i guess that's all that i can share with you....

  15. just walk away.. karate is most of all a discipline! just walk away.. u don't have to prove yourself to anyone... and u can beat one guy for sure.. but next day u can't beat his whole gang.. walk away...

I like worn obi ( belt ) ... and GI with a few holes on it, not filthy, only old... altough my obi is in perfect shape and my gi is still lookin like brand new... but when it starts to looks like a rag i'll be very proud! cause it'll remind of my good and bad times to get where I am... I'd never use razors or anything like that... I'd be only lyin to myself... that's wut I thinh tough...
  17. That 'd be a great idea! cause it's a shame that we can only find shotokan kata's around the net! i can provide a site with Shorei Ryu kata! but they're a quite big... but it's worth it... if anyone has any videos we could find a way to share...

  20. Hi... I was wondering if you guys have any exercises tips, I've got a weight of 10 kilos here... i know an exercise where u punch holdin the weights... and I know another one where you put the weights on your shoulder and do some squatches... well.. thanx

  22. I have to agree with shotochem... Maybe he's just having fun... and enjoyin himself... maybe he doesn't want to follow the karate philosophy, and is no worried in what's effective or not... he just want to play around do some exercise... I dunno... i don't think is right to judge people, if they're bein show offs, if they think that or that, we'll never know what really goes on on each persons mind, u have to worry bout yourself, on doing your thing, followin your way, after all, u can't expect everyone to have the same aspirations as you... just follow your way...
