Same here... but hopefully... people will see that, that SH noise is not so necessary...
-
Me too... I've never seen colored Gi... here in Brasil we all use white ones... and when I look in the jap mags, all of them wear white too...
-
Well.. I guess in the end, it really depends on you... and the things you want to achieve with karate... you can train your body, your mind, your health, etc... sometimes you can do all of that at the same time... sometimes you can't....

Thank god! hahahahhahaa i was kinda feeling unconfortable that my style everytime was mentioned appeared a * AHAHHAHHAHHAHA

I've only seen a tape like this at championships... never seen in a store or anything

I was wondering, how to improve my kime??? And how do I know when it's good? Do you make breathing noises like :"shhhhhh" I went on a championship and there was guys doing that, every move they did every block, every punch, every kick there was a "SHHHHHHHHH" I thought that was weird... I was just wondering if that has a real meaning, if it helps...

Hey there! I was studying about that a few days ago... and I came to this conclusion: Low stances are very important! it makes your legs stronger, give you more balanced, and if you rotate your hips right the punch will be stronger, cause I'll be in a solid stance. In kumite is very usefull... this sunday 26th, I've been to a championship.. and I saw all these guys jumping around with no stance like it was boxing or something... for a skilled fighter that uses stances instead of jumpin around, they'll be an easy target... they're easier to use shibarai, to hit some perfect mae gueri ( like i did ehehehhehehe ) And I even got to see some awesome veteran senseis fighting... they could actually defend and counter atack, like if it was a tai sabaki, or a kihon with two people! that was amazing to me! it's hard to dominate the stances really well, but when you do you'll be able to do anything you want... It's sad to me that people try to mix the styles... fighting kumite like if it was a tae kwon do or a Boxing fight... if ya ask your old instructors he'll confirm that karate is not ment to fight like people are fighting now... well.. that's just my opinion but, you have to practice Karate the way you feel more confortable... then if ya want to improve it, u are free to do it ya know? Hope I'd help in any way...

Who do you guys think would win in a match beetween Kyokushin VS. Traditional Karate ( like shoto, Shi.to, Goju and etc.) BUT! with point rules not K.O. I think Traditional cause Kyokushin fighters are used to leave their guards open cause their style they don't mind on takin a few punches... But on the other hand, if a traditional fighter receives a nice kick on the stomach, he'd certainly be on a disadvantage... just wanna know your opinion about the subject...

Karate on ESPN2, Sunday (26th)
tenkamusou replied to karatekid1975's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
ow man... this sucks... I don't have ESPN 2 here in Brasil... dammit! -
yeah.. I dunno why but I think that shito-ryu is the hardest style to find things on the WEB... I never found anything bout it.. except on the https://www.shitokai.com

I dunno.. like most people here said, it's good that u want to know the history of your style... but sometimes the style is so young that you're being part of the history ya know? And another thing, I agree with all the people that said that u should check your sensei background, but that doesn't mean anything in my opinion... as a student, you're the one that make the reflection of the style, no the sensei... but that's just my opinion...

Ow and another thing! wut is better? Fight in a stance, like kokutsu and shikodachi and that kind of stuff, or fight in Moto-dachi and any position... some say that fighting in a stance like kokutsu gives you more explosion and power to the attack...
-
Yeah! thanx guys... those were some of the best advices I had... I guess that instead trying to catch all his moves, I should defend the first and try to stop him at that time, the really begginin of the combo... If do that, I'd really give him some trouble... cause that's nothing worse and frustrating that having your attack explosion interrupted... wut do you guys think?

I like Wanshu, Meikyo, Wankan and Seentin... I'm trying to master them hehehehehe

The real karate is in you.. not in your teacher or in your style... as musashi said: "The teacher ir the ink and the student is the brush" That's not exactly what he said cause I couldn't translate exactly wut he said in english ( pardon my poor english ) But that's the truth! you're teacher doesn't have to be the best or anything, what you are is the important thing! You could be the best karateka if you learned from a Blind man if ya want! It all depends on you... you're real, the training will change according to peoples needs, but the spirit is always the same... "Be like water my friend"

I studied shotokan when I was 12... then I stoped for a while...then I started s.h.i.t.o Ryu... the I studied that for bout 2 years then stoped... then I came back to S.hi.to.ryu training full speed... I've been back for bout 6,7 months...

Is it possible to see all your oponents moves while he's throwin ten moves kicks and punches while you're trainin kumite... cause I was practicing with a friend of mine today... but I guess he was so fast that I could only see the first puch or kick, the rest of the moves on the combo I couldn't even see or defend properly... and that sucks... Is it my fault? should I practice more instincts or It's like that to everyone? and another thing... I love mawashi gueri... i'm tryin to become an expert at it... but almost everytime I throw a mawashi kick the oponents defends with his elbow... and that really hurts my feet!! maybe I should wait for them to open their guards and then kick... but my instincts speak louder eehehehheeheehehe Is that normal too? Oss!

Like Miyamoto Musashi once said: "The WAY is on the training..." I guess that the translation is quite correct.... but i think u guys got the message heehehhehe
