  1. We use this in heian sandan bunkai for uchi uke gedan barai moment.
  2. Most gyms are open to everyone regardless of your experience in martial arts or your physical atributes. You should go ask in few diffrent gyms, and if they dont suit you try some diffrent art for example karate.
  3. I tried punching difrent things/materials and I also train a lot on punching bag but my hands are really smooth, they are like I never did any physical work. It might be that I have that type of anatomy or something
  4. You can try standing on your good foot and try some light kick with the bad one, Or just stand on one leg to improve balance.
  5. When I do katas in karate, sensei always tells me to step with the whole foot at once as I tend to step once with heel once with ball. So I go with other, becous I should go with whole foot
  6. I'd say Jerzy Zdzisław Kulej he's polish boxer and he was two times olimpic champion. And these days I cheer for Tomasz Adamek.
  7. I also dont mind talking. I mostly tals during sparring, cuz sometimes it confuses my sprring partner
  8. As everyone said dong go all the way because its easy to over extend your knee. Try to go full force but at the end tighten all your leg muscles to stop the kick and protect your kick from overextending.
  9. I thought it was for real cuz i had april 02
  10. Depending on rules you could also clinch and knee/elbow her. If I were you I'd rush to tackle her and get it to ground.
  11. Or you could also say you did mma. By the way were you graded in this school?
  12. Does anyone know any good MA or fighting games for PC?

  14. I'd say it's quite possible to make a belt system for mma. Look at karate, in competition not always the higher belt wins, although he 'knows more'.
  15. I practiced some kung fu and ju jutsu for self defenc and now I do karate, and I can say that only thing that was beneficial for me where kicks and basic foot work that i learned from kung fu and dju su system.
  16. Yeah, this kid is good, we might hear about him in few years if he keeps getting better. But his attitude will make hie lots of enemies.
  17. WOw, I never heard before about signing cotrract when you enter a martial arts school. It kind of sucks. I'v only know schools where you just pay for a month, and you come to practices if you want.
  18. Yeah I know, thats why I thought we could make a list here, so everyone could see it:)
  19. I don't know if there was similar post. I'd like to know if someone knows where could I find rules to diffrent martial arts kumite/sparrings. Of course if anyone knows them it would be nice if He/She post them. Thanks
  20. We only do a light /medium contact as our target is to hit with a good clean technique. Of course we add some force, but watch not to KO someone.
  21. You should not worry if you lose a sparring match with a higher belt. I'd say before sparring you should think about combination or two and then try to use them in sparing. It would not matter that you lose. For now you should just try to land one clean hit, then two and so on as you get more experience. Also you can always ask your senpais that you spared with for advice. And you are not planning to go to competitions soon right? So for now just practice, and good luck
  22. Yeah I know that this art is quite weak, and thus I could get to black belt like in 2 years and still practice shotokan. Also judging by youtube videos of their kumite I could easily win in their competitions
  23. Dont laugh but I'm considering joining that style, because its said that in this style you can learn at home alone and then just pass the exam, which dont seem to hard. And once you have higher rank you can do something like interest group and teach a litle, and from 3kyou up you and doing instructors test you can teach as an instructor. Oh and adding to shovel I heard that they also learned how to defend with deer horns
  24. The funniest thing is learning how to fight wit a shovel
