Welcome! -
I read through this thread and I have tears in my eyes from laughing! All I can say is that my actions seemed reasonable at the time.

My Sensei calls me wildman sometimes. He started calling me that after I got tossed out of my first tournament. When he calls me that during class I know that i should dial it back a few notches.

Well.... I passed! I am now a 5th Gup Green Belt. I had one screw up moment in the second kata I to perform but overall not bad. To get my belt I had to perform 3 kata, 5 one step defenses, spar 1 person for one minute, then spar 2 people for one minute. I was gassed by the end of the 2 person sparring but I think it was due to holding my breath through my kata. -
It didn't seem that dumb when i did it, but after re-reading my post I'm not feeling like the sharpest knife in the drawer.

If my mental picture of you has a beard then, in my mind, its your face.

I'm resurrecting this thread hoping someone else has dealt with this... Its been 2 weeks and my foot doesn't seem to be getting better. Since my initial post i numbed my foot and cut the callused area open... I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

That is my plan along with constant movement. I'm hoping I can keep both from setting their feet. -
Am I the only one that was thinking this thread was about the Flintstones? Seriously though, anything that provides protection is a good thing. I can't image that ball coming at me at 100+ mph much less hitting me in the head!!!

Thanks everyone! I'm feeling good about testing. I know what i am supposed to do... now i must execute. The only thing i am slight nervous for, mainly because i don't get a chance to practice this, is sparring 2 people at once. -

Relaxing has been a problem I tend to look robotic when the nerves get to me. -
... from testing for my green belt! I have to perform 3 kata, 5 one step defenses, spar one other green belt, then spar 2 higher belts at the same time. I'm ready!!!

With each belt we have several stripes but the colors are white, yellow, green, blue, low brown, high brown, black.

Welcome. I understand your enthusiasm!

Welcome. Training on your own is difficult but it sounds like you have the background do it!

Welcome! Look forward to your input.

Thanks. The floor of my dojo is padded so it doesn't impede my training but if i take a double class my foot hurts like crazy. I'm going to give it a few more days to see if it gets better. Fortunately, my foot doesn't bother me when I'm wearing a sock and shoe... I guess the extra padding helps.

I have to re-post bushido_man96's classy statement because I couldn't have said it better. Truth be told, I'm a bitter baseball fan that can't discuss anything baseball without launching into a rant about my team... I'm an Oriole fan Seriously though, the man cared about the Yankees and he cared about the NY fans. He put the best team on the field he was able to assemble. He was willing to pay a player but he expected that player to produce and if that player didn't produce, there were consequences. I would love to have an owner that cared... see, here I go The Boss... RIP

I was walking outside in my bare feet and I stepped on a stone. I didn't give it much thought, but now a week later my foot still hurts. When I look at the bottom of my foot it looks like I have lighter colored circle about 1/4 of an inch (a little less than a centimeter) in diameter. This lighter colored circle is slightly raised and hurts when I push on it. I've searched online and it appears that I have a stone bruise. Advice about dealing with this is all over place so I'm hoping someone here has dealt with this.... anyone?

Wow, big change can be intimating but it sounds like you have your feet firmly on the floor. Good luck to you!

That is good to hear. i don't have kids so I have limited exposure. Again, I didn't intend to pass to judgment, I was only sharing my experience. To be honest, those kids looking like zombies freaked me out. I guess I wasn't the only one freaked because they no longer look medicated. Good luck to you and yours.

We have 2 ADD kids in my school. When I met them they were heavily medicated. Those kids looked like zombies! You would talk to them and it was like they were looking through you. Their parents have removed the drugs for some reason. Drug-less, these kids can bounce off the walls at times but now they look / act / react like kids. I'm not making a statement either way for how to handle children, I'm just expressing what I experienced.

Changing my dojo... or should I?

Ahhhhh, thats horrible! -
Is there any legal way to follow through with that? I was thinking the same thing. I guess if everyone agrees then it should be enforceable just by asking someone keep their word.
