Found...one hit, one kill...
Traymond replied to Bushido-Ruach's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
The ninja guy dancing around like he did as the voice over occurred also made it hard to take seriously. But then, it's hard to take any "dim mak" talk seriously. Whenever I hear Dimmak I think of Jean Claude Van Damme in bloodsport...haha That's the biggest hindrance to dim muk teaching here in the states...Hollywood has so distorted the truth behind the technique that no one takes it seriously. Here is another example, in my own words so that I don't infringe anyone in the same field...along the Stomach meridian is points 16 and 17 (about an inch above the nipple and on the nipple, respectively), if either one of these points are struck hard enough (or both simultaneously - "hard enough" being 12 pounds of pressure or greater), they will shock the heart and it will stop functioning. The attacker won't have a heart attack, it will simply stop pumping. There are numerous acupuncture points along the body, some of them can be used to cause great damage along with healing...there are a few that, if struck hard enough, or in a certain succession, can cause KO and/or death. Martial arts in general seem to no longer be taken seriously, it is to bad we dont have people who fight for the good of martial arts any more like in the older days such who protect it from such mockery. Their is a spot on the back of the head just below the placement of the skull that is said to be hit with 10 lbs of pressure and it is enough to "stun" your opponent for about twenty seconds, which I think would be enough to finish him off. -
When I was on vacation in okinawa...(three month vacation with my girlfriend) we stopped at numerous Dojo and practiced with the people...they seemed to have only kept the technique traditional, the small formalities such as Obi, Gi, and Dojo Kun are not really their anymore. Which goes to show that discipline is givin to them through martial arts training and that they think of the uniform and sash and just something that they can get torn up without worrying about having to replace it...atleast that as my interpretation.
-
We multiple/matching for terminology for every test we ask them what certain parts of the uniform mean and what martial arts means to them and for shodan we make them memorize the creed and then write it down word for word. I think it helps them retain information on the history of the arts.

What about clapping push ups...some people say they are bad for your shoulders as well and some say they are good...which one is it...lol?

Haha thanks again, and I will definately try the cous cous and barley...I love sweet potatoes haha. Thanks again.

Practice by hitting each other in the shoulders, arms, forearms, stomache, legs and it will build up an "immunity" to it. Thats how I overcame the pain...taking tip strikes to the stomach by a bo staff haha. Overtime you will get over it...and meditation has helped me alot as well.

Thanks guys, it was a bunch of help reading your posts, you shed some light on my questions and I am greatful, haha. There are alot of educated people here on this forum, its is a one stop shop, haha.

Out of curiosity what type of disciplinary action are you talking about? For the most part disciplinary action means pushups, pushups, pushups, and more pushups. However, if a student doesn’t respond to pushups then it is more of an attitude and behavior issue in which case probations and suspensions would be the disciplinary measures. We are very “old school” traditional and the wearing of the Gi outside is strictly forbidden and even written down in our rules manifesto. I have made an exception on occasion of wearing the Gi pants and a t-shirt to class as some of you have mentioned, but that is only for novice students wearing the cotton blend, full length, elastic waist type of gi pants as they can kind of blend in with today’s eclectic fashions. However, I don’t feel that traditional 12-16 ounce duck canvas trousers with traditional drawstring waist that hit your leg about mid calf can blend in at all and therefore are not allowed to be worn outside of class. Ahhhh ok that sounds fun...pushups haha. IM pretty sure that would stop them from wearing their Gi outside of class. If not...then....their crazy haha. Something off topic...I like my Judo uniform all tethered...it looks cool haha. Back on topic. The only thing my school frowns upon with wearing the Gi outside is that it gets dirty to quick...and thats probably the only pet peeve of my instructors because our creed states that out GI must be pure white....But its never taken seriously since the instructors can wear black or blue uniforms even red if we prefer...

Tooo Smart. Haha. Too Smart, I have no further "arguments" haha. But I will not intend on finding out how the one hit one kill works in regards to the head...I will let some one else figure that one out...haha. -
Yes Neko Ashi Dachi is Cat Stance and Ko kutso dachi is referred to as a "back" stance. The weight proportionment is the same everywhere I have been. Neko Ashi Dachi is suppose to be 95% of the weight on the back leg and 5% on the front leg Ko Kutso Dachi is suppose to be 75% on the back leg and 25% on the front leg. But no matter where I go the positioning of the foot is always different and how your back and shoulders should be squared are always different in every style how can their be so many differences in a style that is linked so closely?

New Program... charge how much?
Traymond replied to Holliesc3's topic in Instructors and School Owners
I find that its a very good deal. And in another school that I call my favorite school for some reason or another. You get Karate, Kobudo Aerobics and Judo/Aikido for 40 bux a month. -
Although we, as practicing Martial Artists, might not see the difference, the general public does. Not many would know, or care, that it is traditional Japanese garb. It looks out of place to most, and thus, can be a cause for attention. Some good, and some bad. Ahhh so your speaking of just to restrict them wearing it outside of the class as a preventative measure? haha now I understand a bit more.

Very Scientifically Profound Tallgeese just as all of your posts seem to be, they keep me in awe as I read them. So I throw another "argument in your path to decimate" Some people say that the coconut is in the same density and mass as a human skull, and that it can be smashed to pieces with a knife hand or a hammer fist, wouldn't that cause enough blunt force trauma to the head area to kill someone? -
NO matter what styles I am in, these two stances always look differant no matter what the style is. From Goju to Shotokan to Uechi Ryu. They are all differant. I dont understand why these two are always differant? Can someone shed some light for me please

Well I was going to refer you to crossfit as well...but...to many people are doing that already... http://www.shelterpub.com/_fitness/_stretching_in_the_office/online_stretches.html thats a link to a page on stretching people can do in their office at work. Its easy and helps with your wrists and deltoids and back if done correctly...just something to take a gander at.

I have not suffered from that but I have ripped two out of three tendons in my ankles...and please dont ask me what the names are cause I have no clue it was two years ago. But. I took Accu pressure and wore an ankle brass and within four months I could stand on it fully and kick fully with it. its just something to try...accupressure will be extremely painful the first four sessions but its worth it...especially if you been thorugh it for eight years...and ankle braces are like under fifteen dollars at any sports stores such as Dunhams or anything like that.

Hmmmm....I just thought of a funny thought....that has little to no relevance.... Whose the witness to this. If two guys are fighting and one guy kills a guy with one hit...and no one else is their....whose the witness...lol...oh well there was my sillyness. I dont believe in the one hit one kill concept as of now...especially in this time and era. We do not HAVE to survive against a katana so we dont have to hit someone one time and kill them. We have two friends...Smith and Wesson for that now. But I do think that it could be possible in the feudal times of other countries yes such as Japan and Okinawa. Because they were stripped of their weapons, and they probably could not weild a bo as well as they could wield their hands, so I think their might possible be a one hit one kill technique out their. I mean look at Kiyohide Shinjo he can be 3-5 inches of pine with his thumb, cant he collapse someones windpipe with that thumb as well. -
Haha thats basically all I needed to hear, I was extremely reluctant to buy them and glad that I dint really do it. I prefer diamond push up and knuckle pushups, but knuckle push ups I dont really feel anything in my chest like normal flat handed ones.
