I also had an appendectomy when I was 18 years old. I suffered for two days before I went to the hospital. I thought it was gas or food poisoning. The appendix partially ruptured and toxins were in my blood stream. The Doc said I almost died. I had to stay in the hospital for a week and because of the antibotics I broke out with a terrible rash. uhh. Hurry up and get it checked out.

The Martial art movie stars
BlackI replied to Nickgarren's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
Jet Li is very good. I don't know if he is the fastest or the best, but there is no way to take anything away from his abilities. Some of my picks are Michael Jai White(mentioned earlier), who kicked Van Damsel's butt all over Universal Soliders. Donnie Yen: Who was the Man in Iron Monkey. Iron Monkey 2 sucked, and he had a role in Blade 2. Michelle Yeoh: Lady from Crotching Tiger. Many roles co-starring with Jet Lei. Wesley Snipes- Blade Himself Mark Dacascos-who was great in Brotherhood of the wolf Question Can Neo and Morpheus(Matrix) be considered for this -
What are the world's most recognized martial arts?
BlackI replied to koreantiger81's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I would have to say that for you average person that is a non practioner, it would be TKD/Karate or Kung Fu. For argument sake, I don't think to many people(non MA) know what BJJ is, or ever heard of it.. -
I think Endzone's comment hit it right on the money. That is the perfect fight...

I played the game on Playstation 2, but I never noticed that scene

Hey Martial_Artist, Can you tell me a movie where you liked the fight scenes? Just about all movie fight scenes are not realistic. This goes back to days of Bruce. Real fights are not pretty, but neither is life, so that is why we have movies. I do agree about the choregraphy in the movie, they could have been a little more creative. I think the should have done some more fight scene with the elite guards, especially that girl.

I don't know if I would say it was horrible, but I will agree that it was not as good as the First. CGI was overdone, but it had alot of fight scenes, but the plot sucked. I don't agree tha Wesley can't do MA. From what I hear he is very good at Capoeria and some other arts

You can say that again

I don't know G95( I agree and also disagree) about the restriction with age, weight and height. I know this can be a problem, but look at how many Grandmasters there are that are old as dirt(no disrepect) and these guys can beat alot of the top guys. I know that training early played a part in it. Now, if a person can acheive such a high level. IS it possible to train to train your mind to get to that level even when you have reached that elderly level. Or look at some of the shorter NBA players that can slam dunk the ball. I don't know sometimes I think anything is possible as long as you believe and your mind is discipline enough.

I must admit that tall atheltic dude is a mother. My instructor is built like that. I think I might over think sometimes when I fight with him, but as I get my rhythm and my techs together it is becoming better

That's okay, I'll go the slow route!!!!

Can anybody give me any tips on how to get loose? I especially want a fast and powerful head high roundhouse kick. Does anybody have any special strecths that they do to perform this? I know you have to strecth regularly and you can not spot strecth. I was just wondering if there was a way to acheive this Head High kick ASAP.

Hey did anybody see an GQ about 3 months ago. It had some of the most fittest guys in the world(something like that), anyway there was this one guy who said he works on a naseia(spelling) rating scale, from 1-10. 1 being fine and 10 was throwing up. He said he normally work at about a 9 on his scale. I thought this was amazing. There were two guys in the magazine that I was amazed by one was a Professional Kick Boxer, his training regiment was something else, and there was this guy who was the fittest man alive, he had the guiness book record. He ran 10 miles, biked 10 miles, swam 10 miles, did 1000 jumping jacks, 1000 pushups and 1000 situps all within 24 hours. I thought that was definietly pushing yourself to the limit..

What is your favorite kick for street defense?
BlackI replied to Tiger's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I must agree with Blue Dragon. I kick to the knee works everytime. Sidekick or Frontkick, either one. I also like roundhouse to the back of the knee and then a quick chop to the throat... -
Hey Do you think they should make a BLADE 3? What were your thoughts on BLADE 2?
-
For me Mind Elevation is the biggest reason I am even into MA. It is about the body, but more so about the mind. Plus, understanding the limitations that you have for yourself are many times not your real limitations, that is when Mind over Matter takes over. Making me push that much more!!!!

Advantage or Disadvantage of X-Traning
BlackI replied to BlackI's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
At what point in your martial development are you ready to train in another system. I am neither for or against x-training, but I would think you would need to be at a certain level of development before you can even think about another system. I know for myself that I have alot to work one in just one system. Now ponder this. Is it good to be the jack of all trades and the master of None or To Master one thing and then move on to the next..
