  1. Mmm, szechwan or Kung pao chicken, or shrimp, or beef... For Korean food it's gotta be bulgogi and kimchi is really good too! Thai food is awsome: a green cury is one of the best dishes ever. Japenese: I went to a japenese resturant once. It was crazy! They cooked everything right in front of you, flipping knives, food, and utensils all over the place. And oh LORD was it tasty!

  3. I just found out another friend of mine is going to be in Vegas at the same time I am. Party Time! <-See this guy here? That's going to be me, not angry but... on fire! Come on big money! I got student loans to pay!
  4. I've read the first Dune book and the newest 4 that were written by the original author's son. All were very good.
  5. Sweet, I'm actually going to Vegas for the first time next week. I'll have to try out some craps now. Where did you all stay? I'll be at the MGM Grand.
  6. I turned 26 on Feb 14. No Valentines sweetie for me this year
  7. Well lets see... speaking solely about my TKD school (as they all differ) there are sweeps taught at 5th gup, 4th, and 3rd that are part of our "normal" training. There is one throw that we do at 3rd gup. That's just required material. The instructor will usually go over joint locks, wrist grabs/escapes, escapes from head locks, grabs from behind, escape from a mount position (I had to ask for that one though), and a few other types of situations. Having said that, I still wouldn't want to get taken to the ground. Not enough practice there on my part.
  8. I just posted our blackbelt test requirement over in the karate section. Cool stuff there, take a look. We do taegueks 1-8, palgewes 1-8, and chung bong #6, so 17 forms altogether.
  9. Taeguks 1-8 Palgwes 1-8 Chong Bong 6 One steps (36) personal one steps you made up (at least 6) sparring (usually 4 people in a row, sometimes more) Breaking- jump spin heel kick(suspended board), round/hook kick (to be done in one motion not as two seperate kicks), and a set of "mystery" breaks that they give you on the spot. Usually you start on your back and procede to break with 4 or 5 different tech's. The first of these is almost always a knee to two boards, then you get up to break the others. Written essay Verbal Q and A session It takes about 2-3 hours not including your pretests.
  10. I started in 2000, so I was 23. Oh, and happy early B-day to MuayThai Fighter!
  11. That traditional school looks pretty cool but it depends on what you're looking for and which you like better.
  12. Cedar, The Confidence Of rare beauty, knows how to adapt, likes luxury, of good health, not in the least shy, tends to look down on others, self-confident, determined, impatient, wants to impress others, many talents, industrious, healthy optimism, waiting for the one true love, able to make quick decisions.
  13. Nieav Anstp, Nes Lumina of Ibuprofin
  14. I did laugh, but when I read it to the lab I thought they were going to hit me lol
  15. ok, not a lot of feed back on this so I'll ask: "what's your favorite national park?" Did you at least like my pictures
  16. We do both sides as well. Sometimes I feel that instead of doing an equal number of tech with each side maybe it would be better to do the weak side say 10 extra times. This would help to overcome your preference for the strong side and weakness on the weak side. What say the masses?
  17. I dont know. I usually use forms as a warm up before class on my own and then we spend a part of the end of class to do forms too. There is not really a "forms" class per say as there are sparring classes (2 X's a week). I think more than 2 classes a week devoted entirely to forms wold be too much.
  18. If I ask for certificates of rank, what are the organizations I should look for? I have no real idea about that as far as JJ goes.
  19. What do you guys think about this school? It's a bit far from me but looks kinda cool. Click on the picture to check it out. http://www.combat-jujitsu.com/
  20. Practice practice practice. This kick just takes a while to get "right". Talk to an instructor and have them watch your kick. It will probably help more hearing their feed back on what you're doing then anything any of us here can tell you. (we cant see what you're doing) Good luck, it's a fun and challenging kick.
  21. Also, there are alot of pictures per page so make sure to scroll over to see all the thumbnails.
  22. I dont know why I didn't share this before This is a web site my friend made with pictures from our vacation last year to Glacier national park in Montanna. There's a daily description of what we did, a few maps, and alot of really cool pics. Take a look and tell me what you think http://www.balthazaar.com Oh, and that's me third from the left, top row of the raft, behind the guy with the orange hat. After looking at that pic see if you can guess who fell in on the rapid called "Bonecrusher". -Aubs
  23. Yeah, bring a friend and watch a class or two before you commit to sparring him.
  24. 3 years for my red belt (2nd gup) in TKD
  25. Hello, my name is Aubrey, and I love TKD. I love the kicks, the spins, the throws, and the forms. Oh do I love the forms. Palgwe forms rock and Chung bong forms are simply great. If I knew some ITF forms I'd do those too! I like watching for that front leg roung kick and turning to counter with a speedy back kick. I like the one steps and board breaking. I love yelling my kihas while kicking paddles, punching too. ILIKE TKD AND AM PROUD OF IT! Pilsung? You better beleive it!
