I think it's going to be pretty sweet but I wonder who the opening band is going to be Say ZR440, looks like you're Red Wings have their hands full this first round. What's your out look on the series? It's been a huge hockey weekend here. Gophers win the NCAA tourney, first home play off game for the Wild. Hockey is back where it belongs! GO MN WILD!

Power is from the hips, supporting foot turns more like 135 degrees to 170 if 0 degrees is faceing the target and 90 is directly to the side.

The next show I'm going to is The Red Hot Chili Peppers in May. That should be pretty cool. In the past I've seen Skid Row and Sound garden (1st concert for me), Nirvanna w/ the Breeders and Shonin Knife (Cobain offed himself 3 weeks later so I'm really glad I went to that one), Dream theater, Pearl Jam, VNV Nation, Metallica, Def Leppard and a few others that aren't comming to mind now. Too cold in Rochester, NY? Probably about the same as Minneapolis/Saint Paul. Concerts explode around here in summer but who wants to be here in the winter?

I think having braces and not being able to eat things like that topped my least favorite list. And the mind numbing pain/pressure when they were tightened! My LORD that hurt!

Well if you're going to add M&M's to my list... 3 is fine, much like the lovely ladies at karate forums Hmm, maybe I do need more on my list.

1) The outdoors/nature -I majored in fisheries and wildlife biology... too many things to see and do, things to discover, and interesting ways that different organisms have solved problems related to daily life. Diversity is key. 2) Friends and family- what's life without them? 3) reading- for enjoyment or learning new things it's a great way to open ones mind MA didn't make my top three but it's high on the list. Now if I was to do MA training in the woods with my friends and relax by reading after wards

Saint Paul. I found a website for a SBD school nearby. Guess that's not yours though. Do you have a website we could look at for your school?

The school looks ok. I'd follow the advice of others here and try another class or two to be sure. Love the Brak quote by the way. "Thank you magic toenail, I salute you!" -
Korean Information
niel0092 replied to KickChick's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
What is the korean equivialent of the word "Shodan"? We always just say the person is a first dan bb. sah bum nihm for when bb below 4th dan instruct, but what about for a non teaching bb? Is it Ya Dan Ja for black belt holder? -
1) +3 years 2) Tae Kwon Do 3) 2nd gup Red belt 4) Of the ones I've tried (TKD, Tai Chi) I liked TKD better. Tai chi would be fun but I didn't care for the instructors. I'd like to try aikido in the future.

Just got back from Vegas... Oh, man is that place something. I played roulette, blackjack, slots, and took Blue's advice on taking a craps class. Uck, it was an hour of statistics and probability. Not for me, but at least now I know how to play. So how did I do gambling? Well, I broke even. Unless of course you count how much I ate at the buffet. I must have made money there judgeing by the stack of crab legs and shrimp husks that were left over (burp).

Dont mess with Mama! -
Brings a big smile to my face! Edit: Aww the link didn't work! It was about a 6mo's pregnant mom to be that used tkd to stop her assailiant. I'll try again to find it. Here we go: Black-belt mom-to-be gives robber the chop July 31 2002 at 10:49AM A 47-year-old robber in the Philippines got a big surprise when he was beaten up by his six-months pregnant victim who turned out to be a black belt taekwondo expert, said a newspaper report. Clarissa de De Guzman, 25, was on her way home in Manila on Monday night when the suspect, machine welder Leopoldo Pangilinan, intercepted her and poked an eight-inch knife to her side, the Philippine Star reported. The woman fought back with blows and kicks, knocking the suspect down. The suspect tried to flee, but de Guzman felled him with rapid kicks and punches to his head, groin and body. He was later arrested. - Sapa-DPA

Gee, dont recall ever rolling up into a fetal position before Do remember hitting their jaw with a right hook to finnish things. Not bad for a TKD guy eh? Would full contact practice have helped me? Yes. Are full contact fighters good at what they do? Also yes. Does that mean that a non full contact fighter is going to get their butt kicked or end up in the fetal position when attacked "on the street"? No, It's all situational. Keep up the good posts, but try to watch the inflametory remarks

The last vacation I took was to Glacier national park. I posted a thread on that in the general chat but not to many people commented on it (thanks Leaf!) which is too bad cause there are some really good pictures on that site. Plus you get to see what Aubs (that's my nickname) looks like after being in the woods for a week. Scarey sight, I guarentee http://www.balthazaar.com take a look!
