well it is kinda hard 2 say concidering that there are so manythings that could happen not 2 mention the fact he has back up. scenario:1 but in hinesight i would 1st try and ask him 2 please get out of my way, then if there were any police around i would ask them 2 help, but chances are there would not be so then i would push past them if he tried 2 push me back or attack me, i would then parry and attack with crushing hands of the mantis combo( its a tan-tui praying mantis move where u bring both hands down in a smashing motion) to take the 1st drunk guy out, while screaming for my girl 2 go run and get help. if friend comes at me i would eather leg sweep or roll out the way and try to get an equalizer ( like a rock or and 2by4 and nock him down/KO ( if possible)then get in car tunr own and try 2 eather scare them of or maunever around there bodies, and go get girlfriend who might have already return with help, and live ASAP so 2 guys dont come 2 and try 2 say that i started it.

martial arts scary in some peoples eyes?
masterintraining replied to little kicker's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i dont think it is scaring in peoples eyes i just think that u being his girlfriend or being a girl in general who can beat a dude may sometimes seem kinda scary to other dudes. not me though i think that anybody can be a good fighter no matter what gender. -
has anyone ever seen a show called avatar the last airbender, it is kinda a anime fantasy show, own nickelodean( thats a hard word) here is sorta a summery a brother and sister find a boy frozen in ice, when thawed out it is found out that he is the avatar the bridge between the spirit and mortal world, and soon to be master of all for bending elements. bending is the ability to manipulate the elements of eather, earth, water, air, and fire using martial arts based techniques( like doing kungfu/wushu forms, that use the elements listed 2 defeat ur opponent.) each element has there own nation, the water tribes, the earth kingdom, the air temples, which have almost been completely destroyed by the evil- fire nation. there is only oneperson who has been taught the techniques of air bending left in the entire world and that is the avatar hince the name the last air bender and he is the only person who can learn all for elements( well three left atleast)and deafeat the evil fire nation which is trying to conquar the world.( the fire nation is much like the nazis in WW2). one of the reasons it so popular is because they use actual techniques and forms from actual kungfu, tai-chi, and quigong forms for the element bending, they actually have real martial arts masters come in to coreagraph the techniques. well has anyone ever seen it.

School fights
masterintraining replied to masterintraining's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
how could u have gone to a correctional facility if u defended urself against a unprovoked attacker, dose not make any sence to me, especially since it was only a school fight, have u had to defend urself numerous times or something. my school is charter, and my friends is a bording school, and neather, of are schools, punishment would be that bad, unless someone went to the hospital because someone did not stop hitting the other person even after they had one. -
i would voice my opnion but so far ever1 else has said how i felt about the situation in there posts so i guess i dont need to, say anything else except try and avoid him, but if that dose not work, .... well u know when the line is cross.

there was this almost fight situation at my school today between these to kids. now i am not going to get into the story becasue it is not realivent to my topic. but i have gotten in a good amoutn of school fights ( all in middle school and elimentary so far none in HS but im only a sophmore) and i was always wondering why in streetfight scenario if there is no police around, or help to get then u ar entitled to defend urself. but in school if there is no teacher around to helpu in that situation then even if defend urself u both get in trouble. What do they expect u to do, just sit there & take it, then wobble ur battered & bruised body down to a teacher and tell ,them. how do they know that u are not going to be in such bad physical shape after that, that ur going to be able to do that, or not be missing ur teeth, punctured lung, broken bones etc. kids today are much more violent then they used to be and will try and jump people, going to tell a teacher like u could in pre-school if "lil jonny hit ur arm"is not always an option, can anybody who has the same feelings as i do please respond, especially any teachers here who have expierence with this, or know what i am talking about.

Jean Claud Van Dam VS. Bolo- in Blood sport Jean Claud Van Dam VS. tiger in The Kickboxer the final Fight in karate kid part 1-2 the Land lord and land lady VS. the Beast in Kungfu hustle the fight between Bruce Lee and Ohano in enter the Dragon ( for the five seconds it lasted. ) Bruce lee VS. the entire martial arts school in fist of fury ( chinese Conncetion) by the way what MA style was the rival school practicing in that movie. and the fight between Jet Li's Charactor( forgot his name) and the American Wrestler in Fearless, because he showed restraint which all MA fighters should try 2 do. my list could go own but that could take to long so i will leave it at this.

Pa kua
masterintraining replied to Rainbow_Warrior's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
i feel sorry for ur friend really i do. if u ever read a book own pakua and its history u would no that it took pakua teachers many many many years of practice before they ever could be good at pakua, heck, the original monks who taught pakua wood make people train a minimum of 10-20 years, before considering them to be instructor level. and besides that.... $500.00 BUCKS A MONTH, ARE THEY INSANE!!!!! it only causts me about 60-70 bucks a month and minture of prices for tests ( 35 dollars for white belt tests -tiger patch test 50 bucks for blue to brown-dragon patch, and i;m guessing 75-100 for black belt test) -
UFC in the streets
masterintraining replied to masterintraining's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
but what if the attacker has a weapon( which many do) , such as a knife, bottle, stick witha nail throught it etc. ( except for a gun) UFC guys dont train in defence from armed attackers. not to say that UFC fighters wont have any expeirence with it, but just based own the training methods you see them use. P.S. and can some of u please avoid another mma vs.TMA discussion -
okay we all know there are many different elements that seperate ring fighting, from streetfighting. my quistion is ( and i am not trying to ask a which style is better or is this style good qustion) do u think MMA like in the UFC can work the same way in the street it dose in the cage. in the cage, when the fighters get somebody in a armbar, or my favorite (because almost knowbody can get out of it) the rear naked chokehold when that person own the recieving sideof that gets in to much pain they tapout, and the fights over, but in the street just because somebody says that they give up or apologizes etc. it dose not mean they are telling the truth, and wont attack again. nowadays it seems that all you here about is UFC i love watching UFC actually i am wathcing "the Ultimate fighter right now. but it still makes me wonder would these fighters be as good in a club fight or bar fight as they are in the UFC, can some people please give me some encite, or there oppnions and knowledge of this subject.i think in most fights it depends own your abillity to adapt to the person you are fighting not the style, thats why i think almost any martial arts style can do well in the UFC as long as you know how to fight against a person of that perticular martial discipline, and the fighter in particluar. thats why i dont like when people say that kung-fu is not effective in the UFC, but thats not the topic of this post , anyway what do u guys feel about UFC in the streets ?

Standing Locks
masterintraining replied to MizuRyu's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
are mantis system has alot of joint locks and manipulation that resemles the mantis so we use alot of them , infact all of are grappling moves involve some type of join lock. and are Sifu has a tendancy to use alot joint lock moves own us when we practice ( well, that and backfist) so i now first hand how effective they can be. -
Kung Fu Hustle
masterintraining replied to June1's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
I like the part where they are suppose to go kill the landlady and they keep messing up and stabbing eachother, then he knocked the snakes down & tried to whistle but they all bit him. and the other part where the axe gang boss was so scared of the landlady after she confronted him( in the same whey Bruce Lee did in return of the draqon) and the boss was so scared he was shaking and neded up lightin himself own fire. i think the best fight scenes where at the end when they were fighting the beast. by the way who played him? i thought he looked kinda like Bolo especially since Bolo whould be around that age now, but my mom said he was to skinny. -

And because of that many people will try to box in a fight even if they dont have hands( means they cant fight) and think that kicking in a fight looks like week or dosent work.( obviously have never taken a side to the head like i have.
