Q & A
stonecrusher69 replied to stonecrusher69's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Master Wong is quite a character. He is as a wing chun teacher, and the biggest thing on YouTube when it come to Wing Chun. He has a very large following. -
Yes, the dummy form is broken into sections so its easier to learn. I like to have a student spend 1 month on each section before learning the next one. there is no set time a student should train on the dummy form. It depends on them but a general rule is 10 to 30 mins 3x a week. The wooden dummy has many transitional shifts pretty much the whole form right from the begining.

Glad you liked the video. Each section of the wooden dummy trains a certain idea or concept and is related to a level of development such as Beginner, intermediate, or advance. I also show how this idea or concept where it is in the forms or katas in Wing Chun. The aha moment is allowing the student to figure out or think for themselves how to apply what technique or a certain concept and then see if it actually works for themsleves. This takes time and everyone is different.

Thanks sensei8. wing chun fighting theory states " stay with what comes, follow as it retreats, and thrust forward on the lost of contact." Chinese and Okinawan martial art share the same root. Karate comes from southern China and was infulanced by White crane and wing chun comes from white crane as well.

This video is for the beginner student. On this videos I present Common defense and attacks used in the Wing Chun system. I only go over a few in this video on a very basic level.I call this video "The 10 deadly hands, but I believe I only show 8 or 9..Sorry,I lost count.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-FxOl-PTy8

A simple and easy way for even a beginner to perform the first section of the Wooden Dummy. This is a modified version suited to the novice who would like to get a " jump start " on his training,or if you live in a small space, this will make if possible to train the Wooden Dummy.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apyVuLRWdz8

Thanks bushido_man96 for watching my video. I hope more then you to watch my videos The shifting to generate force is very important. The power always starts in the legs. Someday I will do complete video on force generation, but have to leave the best for last..I have not even gotten into weapons training yet... Thank you for sharing these videos with us. I really enjoy them. I'm curious, do you have a school that you teach out of, or do you train outside for the most part, with just a few students?[/quotI do both ,but when I make videos I like to go outside. The video I made on the wooden dummy is mu school.
