  3. That's crazy... was it a hit and run or did they catch the guy?
  4. North Bend, Oregon
  5. Good luck and don't worry! You wouldn't be testing if you weren't ready.
  6. There's also the burnout factor you have to be careful of. Some people that's not an issue, but it's something to think about. As long as you're varying your workouts, training daily is fine.
  7. Why do you think they're taught at the beginning? It's because they're the most important.
  8. I was gonna say I have a 2-liter
  9. I believe both types of movement have there place, but the fastest route from point A to point B is a straight line...
  10. Flexibility is a good thing to have for both health and martial arts, but that doesn't mean that everyone should be trying to turn themselves into pretzels. It really depends on what your goals are. If you want to kick people in the head, you're going to need some flexibility, but if you just want to punch, it's not as important.
  11. Just finished up the Mallorean series by David Eddings(again). Right now I'm starting on the X-Wing series.
  12. I've thought about it. I just don't think I'd watch enough movies to justify it. Now if they had one that did BOTH movies and games at the same price, I'd be all over it.
  13. Maybe my New Year's resolution should be to out-post Bushido.
  14. Still my question is, how do they compare in difficulty to break. Does a rebreakable board that's the equivalent of one board mean I should be able to break that wood board just as easily?
  15. I pay $68 a month. Our school has classes 5 days a week and I can go to as many of them as I want. That includes Kobudo and Iaido. It also covers all testing and belt fees and all the initial equipment.
  16. If that happened in our dojo they won't keep their black belt for long.
  17. I'll do it sometimes as a psychological thing. If my opponent is starting to look tired, I'll speed up and start moving around out of range. Even then though, my feet don't leave the mat. It's more the weight shifting back and forth(not up and down). A lot of times they'll try to speed up as well and that tires them further.
  18. Thought this was great.
  19. Are you referring to the expandable batons like the ASP or something small like the kubaton?
  20. If they were hanging out at the pub, then they should have complained to the manager and had the other guys thrown out. If they wouldn't leave then call the police. It's better to let the law handle things than to get involved yourself unless there's immediate danger.
  21. I'll sometimes toss mine in the dryer on tumble for about 10-15 minutes to take the worst of the wrinkles out, but I normally hang dry mine.
  22. I really like going to them. I might not learn that much, but it's fun to go somewhere new and see how different people teach and train with people outside your dojo.
  23. Whatever I can usually find that's quick. Usually a PBJ sandwich or a bagel.
