How bad is that - just realised I never said hi to you!!!

You could never tell me too much about Lost - knowing whats happening doesn't spoil my enjoyment watching the show. So is Alex an "other" now? Have read somewhere there is more to the Sawyer - Kate - Jack traingle, with Ana-Lucia getting involved? Theres just too many fit men to chose from!!

Its horrific but its not confined to the US. Its also worrying though that my daughter who is 7 told me today that a boy in her class told her to go on a diet as she is fat. Now I know its only kids but its still worrying. I think thats awful Sohan that your kids school have cut out their PE programmes - whats the use of all that brain power if they are going to die young and never achieve their full potential?

I think everyone here is showing that there is a general consesus that a black belt can be obtained by anyone regardless of disability, age etc. If a student puts in commitment, dedication and a passion for the art they study then I believe anyone is worthy of black belt. I would like to think that down the line I will be able to pass shodan with pride, and show my sensei' that I have listened to and learned what they teach. Granted I will probably never be a top athlete but I hope that they will appreciate how hard I have worked to attain that level.

Thats a similar situation to our club. My mum is one of the club instructors and is Nidan (2nd dan black belt), she has been doing it for ten years and has been a black belt for around 5 years, so should be higher than she is. However she had knee surgery and is not at her fittest, not quite fit enough to grade. She is now finding that other black belts she taught are passing her - and hence she can no longer grade them. Its awkward for her as she is mentally completely at the top of her game.

Yeah thats the one - but NO NO NO NO not Clive!!!!! It was completely tacky, fun though!! I think the challenges the students went through were fairly tough - and quite well balanced, so not one person stood out. I would of been dissapointed if one of the women had won though - not in a sexist way, I just didn't think on this occasion they were stronger than the men.

Ditto - its actually not as nerdy these days to call yourself a sci-fi fan!! (I hope!!) Even if I didnt love the story I find Russell (the main character I think) is just so damn scrumptious I could forgive him anything!!

Spirit at choice you have hit the nail on the head. There are a few decent guys there but you just don't see them in the same light after all the sweat and toil during training!! Its quite insulting when people think that you only train to meet men, I have had that reaction from friends in the past and its a bit infuriating. I love what I do, and you are that focused on your own training you barely notice anyone else - male or female

There will never be a clear-cut answer to bullying, either in the dojo or school. Unfortunately most people experience it at some time in their life. I don't agree with your head of year Hidden_Ronin. I have never believed in the philosophy if you ignore a bully he will go away. Although I am in no way advising confronting him you do need to keep your witnesses up to date and make a note of all little events that you don't feel like you can complain about. Then when you are in a situation you have to defend youself you also have evidence as to the bullying. Its the same thing police tell battered women and even nuisance neighbours. Just my opinion so please don't have a go at me if others think I am wrong

Kind of related topic here Whenever we have a grading or competition etc, and peoples partners attend, I get the women either giving me evils or automatically taking a dislike to me. They seem to think I go to karate to pull a fella, not actually train. They automatically see some sort of competition that is no way there. They think that "in school" relationships and affairs are common, which I dont believe they are Rant over x

I generally use the abc site for episode guides - but not always the best for info. Likewise some of the forums get so far fetched!!! What happening at the moment - have they found Walt yet? Has michael gone crazy (or gotten "sick")
