  1. wraph, I dont think you should take creatine. Creatine is going to make you put on alot of weight and its not all good. I think that you should try to vary your workout a little bit more. If you need any help take alot of protien specially. you can get that for cheap and you can take it alot without any negative repercussions. actually there are alot of articles that say "overdosing" on protien can have some benefits.
  2. Yes I do think we are having different views, both valid however, but different. Like most things people have their own ways to reach similar goals.
  3. well that is a given that you will experience the event once you are practicing it. The problem is that what if the few events that you can fully grasp do not occur in an actual confrontation. Im sorry I did not understand your post completely so let me know if I misunderstood.
  4. although you make a good point I have to disagree with you. I think its better to understand the technique well then just practice defense against certain attacks, or as you say "practice of that specific event. No one attacks the same and people are completely unprecitable in a fight. There are so many "specific events" that you can not possibly cover every single one and how they variate from person to person. In my personal experience it helped me more to understand techniques than practicing a certain event. You are right, but allow me to explain a little further. Take football, for example. The best way to get better at football is to play football. Now, I do agree that learning the basic techniques of football, like stances and tackling principles, is very important to learning the game. But, specifically practicing the event will help you excel at the event. I understand that of course, but the problem with that is that there are too many different events for on to rely solely on practicing events.

  6. THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. THEY ARE GIVING A RE-RIGHT NOW. OMG I KNOW 10 AND LESS KIDS AT MY SCHOOL FIGHTING WITH MORE SKILL THAN THAT BLONDE GIRL AND THE ASIAN GUY. OMG IS IT JUST ME OR DOES ANYONE SEE THAT THIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE SHOWS THAT GIVE MA PRACTITIONERS A BAD REP. MY I WATCH THIS SHOW AND IM COMPLETELY INSULTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. bushido ideally what you describe would work great. Regardless of what you do there are kids that dont want to work. They just go to play. Unfortunately a teacher that owns a school also owns a business and he has to do certain things to keep it going. one problem with this is parents dont really help support teachers and dont tell their kids that they have to work.
  8. aodhan I did that one after I learned to do the headstand. I didn't even know it was an actual excercise. I thought it was something that I came up with just messing around trying to do a hand stand. Hand stand push ups are hard also. I haven't done those in a while, so i dont have a count. I guess i'll try them at today's class after Im done teaching.
  9. I started working on those. Without any workout I can do like 5-6 on one arm. unfortunately my other arm can only do 2
  10. lol. It would things easier
  11. I didn't enjoy it at all. His music hurt my ears.
  12. I've done the exact same thing. Those windows are kept too clean.
  13. when I started teaching the kids class after assisting for a while, i had the same feeling. They are always saying Jonathan this and that. Since my school is sort of a neihborhood thing, everytime I leave my house there is always one or two kids that chase me down if they see me. As much as I enjoy the attention, teaching kids is stressful sometimes, specially on those days they are excited and just want to play and run around. In my school there is usually few girls. Except for one orange belt who works so hard, harder than anyone else I have the privelege to teach. She is very serious, so obviously she does everything wonderfully (boys don't want to spar her-afraid). Now that the number of girls has increased all the younger girls look up to her. Everytime we line up and they see her there you can see them staring and trying to stand straight how she is and sitting up how she is etc. KarateK, you are absolutely right. Don't fall into the "friend" zone.
  14. A friend of mine from the wrestling team uses myoplex he has had wonderful results from it. You should try it. However if price is a problem go to a local GNC I know they have alot of protien shakes, high in protein that you can get for around $28
  15. thanks alot for your imput. The only reason that i am taking this is because I know it can help me gain weight, which is ver hard for me to do regardless of how much I eat.
  16. I did some math. Actually if I just make one scoop rather than 5 into 24.3 oz. of milk it will give me 1,000 calories, and etc.
  17. This weight got some good reviews and it gives you 5000 a day. What do you guys think about it?
  18. are you good because you get drunk quick (which actually is not good) or are you good because you can take a lot before your drunk?
  19. lmao that is really funny. I've never been to texas but so far they all have tasted the same to me
  20. as was said before, you weren't expecting to be attacked. Honestly, I don't think MA training would've helped you there. Many of us go through the same thing, though few will admit it. It's hard to turn the switch on in a high stress situation. Also, your thing is guns, not hand to hand, from the sound of it. you were focused while you were on duty and you had your weapon of choice at the ready. On this day, you hand nothing and weren't expecting attack. awareness training and hard sparring are good ways to help overcome the fight or flight syndrome, but are no guarantee. I am in indiana all the time. Which part are you in? I agree with you knees. It doesnt matter how much you know if you lack awareness and get caught off guard it will happen to anyone. You just have to pay attention to what's going on, who's around you and who might be getting to close
  21. I guess if MA is a talent than I have one. Otherwise Im talentless. Wow the piano is very hard, Im taking a mandatory music course and I chose piano, it is so hard to play, Im ahead of alot of people in my class (almost the end of the beginner book, which we all are) but it is really difficult!
  22. congratulations I hope the best of luck for you with the training and the baby
  23. I know that my sensei always warns his students about doing drugs and joining gangs. I think those would be grounds for expulsion
  24. This reminds me when I first was let teach some things as a brownbelt. I was up there and did not know how to express myself. The best thing i found that helped me is think of those that taught you as a beginner. try to teach like them until you slowly lean more toward your own way of teaching. Remember that as a teacher you are a leader also. You have to present yourself respectably. Many people fall into a pattern of speaking low and quickly. Make sure you slow down and speak loudly.
  25. sympathy? I think that guy is a little slow. I know that some say love comes in all shapes and sizes but that not one of those cases
