As much as I wish that to be true its not. Its like BigFoot and the Lockness Monster. If it could happen we would have found it by now. The Germans in WWII, The Russians in the cold war and the Chineese still today have spent millions on this. Im sure the US does or has as well. Slight of hand and simple mind tricks with light can do more than the mind. As stong as the mind is its easy to fool.

I really do not agree either. Hand beat feet anyday in a speed race. I understand the point your making but your hands are alwasy free anc can always be used. Legs have things you can't control: Jeans, Boots, bad ground, weather, etc. I like kicks but I like low kicks. There is no need to ever kick higer than the waste IMO.

Sadly there is not magic power out there for us to use. I do believe in Chi or Ki but I think it is more like controling your emotions. (like star wars lol) You know how people get scared or something they can become stronger because there is more. You can used the fear and anger for good if you can control it. But as far as picking up rocks with your mind its not going to happen. Their is a standing offer buy several people of over a million dollars if anyone can prove to them they have ESP or other mind powers. No one has yet to take or pass their test. With that said there is a certin truth to the saying if you believe hard enough it will happen.

Never made a collage on karate lol. However I do talk about it a lot. I think about it or football in all my free time. How to make one or the other better. When I see guys I used to train with I always start the conversation with "you been training any?" When I set arround I find myself making fists, hand postures, etc. I will work pressure points on my forearms and stuff just to see how they work. My students say when I am teaching History in school I will get excited and grab the yard stick on the chak board and starting spinning it. I don't know that I do that but one thing is for sure Karate is a part of me now and forever. -
Personally I like Steve-O LOL

I train and teach Shotokan Karate but I have played arround in some other things as well. You will find a lot of info here for the style you are looing for. I train mentally a lot. Anything from doing kata in my mind to reading this site and or books. IMO the mental is more important. I hope to read more from you later on. Good Luck and Welcome again.

2 rules 1. If you do not fear something you are dead. 2. Only by loosing can you ever win. only way to combat fear is to face it.

Please explain how your school system sets up grades
G95champ replied to SaiFightsMS's topic in General Chat
My local school has been going though a lot of changes over the past few years. Because our population in WV is getting smaller. When I was in school it was like this K-6 Grade School 7-9 Jr. High 10-12 High School By the time I graduated it just changed to K-4 Grade School 5-8 Middle School 9-12 High School Next year we will change again K-6 Grade School 7-12 Jr. and Sr. High School The reson we are doing this is becasue WV is loosing so many peole due to work. Because of the geography of the state roads are not good. Thus consolidation is not easy. Plus we want to keep our local schools. Add to that our BOE has no clue about anything. LOL In WV each county can set up what system they want. -
Forgive me if I sound stupid. LOL Is Frank Dux the same Frank Dukes that Van Damnme played in Bloodsport? I always figured it was spelled Dukes. Oh well

We'll to say MA don't work for a girl is like saying they don't work for non Japanese. Completely stupid argument. I will agree that because women are more ofter smaller and weaker than men it would be harder for them than say the avg. guy. But a woman with MA training IMO has a better chance than the avg. guy without. A good swift kick in the groin and a Tiger Claw can do much more damage than a reverse punch and uppercut. When I went to college on of my history professors (Judy Doyle) was also in our karate class. She was the co-instructor before me. She was a 3rd Dan and was bad. She could hold her own with any man IMO. Not many girls are going to hop in the ring and go 20mins with Ken Shamrock in a NHB fight but who is? I teach womens SD all the time I have had a girl break as many as 4 boards. So to say they can not stack up to men is completely stupid. But stupid people say stupid things.

Without question the first time I tried Thai and Gracie Ju-Jitsu. Tony Mahon was a friend of mine I trained with for a few years on and off. He trained under Carlos Gracie or one of his schools at least. He also spent some time in Thailand. He wanted to learn some kata to balance his style out and I wanted some hard core stuff or so I thought. Well night one I did kata with him. No big deal. Did a few Heian's he had a LOT of trouble with them. Which shocked me. The next night is when I was in for it. I came in and he said pad up. So I did. He said are you ready? I said for what? He said we're going to fight. I was like ok. So we started. I have spared a lot of people from other schools and ALWAYS held my own. However he was not a normal fighter. He was a FIGHTER!!!. I had taken many leg kicks before this but he really threw them. After about 15 kicks I could not stand one my left leg or kick with it. LOL. Now I was about 60 lbs heavier than him at this time so I thought I’m going to rush and tackle him. Not a good idea. As I came in he under hooked me and I got suplexed. I mean WWF pro wrestling type suplex. As I hit I thought I was going to die. I still can see my feet going past the lights. I did not have long to think I was dead because as soon as I hit he flipped over on my and applied a X choke. Which I tapped out really fast. This fight may have lasted 5 mins. from the time we touched gloves to the time I tapped the floor. After that he calmed it down a bit and I learned a lot from him the hard way. When we had sessions I would think man I need to be sick today. However when I left I was like man I’m so glad I did that today. Sensei Mahon is by far the best fighter I have been around. He went with the Gracie clan to the 3rd UFC as did a lot of the students. I have not seen him in a few years but he was the one who woke me up to what real fighting was about and how simple it is. _________________ (General George S. Im with Sai about Shotokan there is just so much info out there and so many people who train in it. You are always learning. As I have said many times I always find new uses for the kata and I only know 19 of them. So I will working hard to learn and break down the other ones and these for years to come.

Math is one of those things that people love it or hate it. I personally hate it. But I still learn how to do it because you have to make it in the world today. Much like kata to Martial Arts. LOL....... Some say why learn math when I got a calculator. Thanks for making my point for me..... _________________ (General George S.
