Samurai sword fighting question
kiba no chi replied to Samurai Shotokan's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
well yea, Sauzin is right, like when me and my friends fight with bokkens the fights can last up to 20 minutes, because of the dodging and blocking, parries and such, you dont realy wanna block with a real katana because it can flaw, chip, or even break the blade if your strong enough, not that a katana is delicate, they most certainly are not, but think about it, two fully grown, martial artists that work out most every day swinging thin, sharp peices of metal at each other that weigh up to 5 lbs each, thats alot of power. -Kiba -
nope havent seen it but ill be sure to pick it up sometime
-
well yea, id rather fight with a katana, but thats just me too

there are different styles of shooting as well, if you have an automatic submachine/handgun such as an uzi or a .45 you can use my favorite style called bandit shooting witch is basicly just tilting the gun to one side and letting the kickback propel it the other way taking out many enemy's, uses alot of bullets but *shrugs* then theres some other styles that you can use with a simple pistol and a knife to keep both ready at the same time for hand-to-hand and medium range fighting at the same time. many styles, maybe you can do a search on google

kiba no chi replied to pressureguy's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
a bandanas pretty easy to use as a weapon effectivly if you think about it, you could catch punches if its streched out, choke, wrap, tie together and even blind with it, just gotta have nimble hands, keys are self explanitory, i always have a bandana and keys one me actualy, so im good -
i dont see how they could stop you from having a sword because its a legitamate MA weapon but then again i have no idea of the laws in canada, id google it if i were you

kiba no chi replied to MMACHAMP's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
I would say kung fu but thats only if you can get proper training... and most people cant. -

My God! I can hear your Irish accent in the words you type. Bloke is a cool name. LOL!!!! (i actualy laughed out loud to that one) i like irish accents too
-
if im not mistaken he was trying to be funny because i think everyone knows that a knife hand block isnt actualy meant to block knives but rather it refers to the shape of your hand when making it and the surface used to block... i dont know realy, perhaps he wasnt kidding
-
yea, you pretty much summed it up, but if it isnt shiny it could be powder coated stainless steel, not nesasairaly(spelling?) carbon.
-
yea, i actualy learned that from an X-Con friend of mine haha
-
just wondering but are you wiccan or pagan Yojimbo?

to transport your sword somewhere, you need to put it in a swordbag and carry it as an identified weapon, and if you need to put it in a car your supposed to put it in the trunk
