  1. I will try to remember to leave it out. smile I am looking for a new school as I had it out with my master over my BB test. I so want to add more to my skills and feel I will not be able to under that master. The Chang Hon forms look like they can challange me very well.
  2. You know after studying the Twe Guk forms and some Palgwe forms. I liked th ePlagwe forms most. I am WTF so I will be shot or something I am sure. But I just looked at the Chang On forms and like what I see. Is there any particular schools that will teach those?
  3. That is what I plan to do with the Owner. Get his eyes opened to what is happening.
  4. Bushido, Sorry, I will explain. The owner owns 4 schools (locations). I attend 1 of the schools which is close to me. I am now going to go to the school the owner actually teaches at. Each of the 4 schools has its own master. I am basically going to a new school but paying the same person.
  5. Jaymac, I can and most likely will do it. The owner of the school is a 5th degree. HE will take me as his student and I will not be dealing with the other people. I do want to talk with him as the other school is giving out paper bb under his schools name. I do not think it is right. So I will do what I can to protect my art. as we all should be doing.
  6. New Update....My Instructor was upset but to me, and I could be reading into this, was like he was upset but did not care so much as I thought he should. A friend called me over the weekend. HE stated that the owner of the school told him that there will be NO BB test for anyone until I am back to the class, his school, and ready to test due to my health. HE claims that it is ME who is the only one really ready for the test. My friend then asked why are the others allowed to test then? Wish I was there for that one. I guess I will stay with the school but go under a different master (the school owner).
  7. I thought about it and decided it best to just cut the ties with that school. No matter what happens I will not feel good about it. Just better I move on. Maybe even take up bowling or darts. lol
  8. I was calm for the most part. By "go off" I mean that I told the master how I felt and what I was thinking in an adult manner. I would never scream and yell. Not worth it.
  9. Update.....I went to class last night and did what I can with the Masters knowledge of my limitations and felt good. I was selected to teach Koryo to a Deputy Black Belt. Being I know it well. Then I found out that this student is going for her test in November this year and I am not. a 2 year black belt. Needless to say, I WENT OFF. I told the Master how wring it is and he could not understand why I am so upset. The fact that I am teaching BB form to students and not being selected to test for it. I am NOW officially looking for WTF schools in the Phila area. Any help is appreciated.
  10. For me it was the grounded foot in my kicks. I found I was not getting my heel piointed to where I was kicking. When I got this figured out I was fine.
  11. This is how I live my life. I just needed to get it out of my system. As for seeing specialists, my brother is a Respitory Theropist and I am under great DR. Care. Again, I am only about 2 months into the testing and there is a way to go. I will NOT give up and in fact I plan to take my test, when I am able to, with class and style.
  12. I am not a "typical" ashtma patient. For my I am out of breath at any kind of physical activity. Like walking a flight of stair. I am totally exhausted. An inhaler does not help me at the point. I am still in the process of testing. This is why I was told to stop all sports. As for being upset, I am upset at my instructors because I was told I will not be tested this past Feb becasue I was the ONLY student to be tested. MY instructor told me I was ready in Nov 05 but had to wait till Feb 06. I am not upset at getting Ashtma. Nothing I can do about it but to learn how to go forwards which I intend to.
  13. Shuold I be a little upset?????? I was scheduled to take my BB test that past Feb and for some reason unknown to me (I was the only student to be tested), I was not tested. Now there are 7 of uf ready to test this Feb for our belts (talk about paper black belts). This past week I got diagnosed with Ashtma with restricted airways. I am now to the point that walking up a flight of stairs in my house gets me so winded I need to catch my breath. I spoke to the doctor and I am restricted from any physical activity. Again, do I have a right to be upset? I spoke to my Master and he said that he will see if there is anything that can be done for me and I told him that it is not fair to give me the belt as I would rather prove to MYSELF I can do what is required to obtain the rank. Well I guess I feel a little better, and winded from typing, now.
  14. JOB WELL DONE.... Best of luck....
  15. Congrats to you and your team on a very successful website. Being a novice webmaster I know what it takes to be up and running for 5 years. I hope for anohter 5 and even more years for you. Thank you.
  16. Don't Call me Sir, I love the title. Demolition/Destruction Champion. NICE. Like to see your skills some time. I persoanlly love breaking and I know the long term affects. I have not done anything beyond wood but used all parts of my body from head to toes.
  17. We obviously scare people off! We? hehe, must be my nickname then.
  18. My class has a gentleman at the age of 74 who just received his BB about 7 months ago. He is one of the most dedicated students in the class. As you to old at 41? naaaaa, I stated at 36.
  19. I am in the process of training for my BB test in TFD. I have been studying for 3 years now and feel I am ready. I may not know what theythrow at me for my test. I do have the confidence to attempt anything they give me. Will I make a mistake? Yes. As all have as well under pressure. What does it take to obtain a BB, in my opinion it is a mind set that comes with a persons indivual training that prepares them to apply what they have learned. Not an amount of time it takes them or the quanity of moves they know. With this said I have trained 3 days a week in class for about 5 hours total plus about 10 at home. I am dedicated to my art as well as I can be in a professional life of work and family. I should have tested sooner but my school is waiting for others to reach the testing point mentally so there will be more then just 1 person to test. Is this fair to me? Not my place to say it. It does make me that much more ready to advance.
  20. Funny thing is that when you get a BB it signifies that you learned and understand the basics of the art. At the BB level you are now ready to learn the advance forms of the art.
  21. Since I can remember I wanted to study the arts. Now that I can afford it I study TDK WTF style. T\his encludes at least 3 days per week, weight training, swimming, endurance and lots of stretching. I am testing in March this year after 3 years and at age 39 I will get my dream. When I get my BB I will the begin to learn the advance styles of the basics I learned. Very exciting time and I wish you luck with your goals/dreams.
  22. Curtisy, Integrity....These are just words to some and a way to live your life to others. I agree with the statements of just shrugging it off. MA is a discilpline and not a way to say your better then others. I looked at various types of MA's and I found that TKD fit my needs as it may not fit others.
  23. I study TKD and have a question regarding the belt promotion of Hapkido.....Did you look at other Hapkido schools and see what the needs to promot to the next belt would be? I wonder if it is just your school making you feel as you do. Just an opinion.
  24. Inside cresant into a jumping spinning inside cresant. I have not mastered ityet but I seen it used with good out comes. Learn to do the second one high AND low (mid).
  25. I may be off base here with my "first thing" but here goes. The first thing would be to have it mandatory for all schools to teach the Tae Kwon Do phylosophy (sp). I read many books on the art and I feel I would have missed so much if I have not. An example being what the forms mean and what to get out of them. The ROOTS of the art back to the 3 Dynasties. So on and so forth. I even thought was my school/Master but it is many I have visited. I actively promote this tyope of training to anyone who wants to learn about the art we so love.
