  1. oh yeah I didn't even see that. Sorry Jack, good imput.
  2. Humbling people in a humble manner is a great reward.
  3. I wish MA were that inexpensive in southern California.
  4. After watching the first movie, The Fellowship of the ring, I was inspired to start reading the books. I'm halfway through the first book. It is so good. I would encourage evryone to read the series.
  5. Hey Singularity, That's pretty impressive. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you weigh?
  6. I supose there is something to be said about the quality of martial arts instruction that is really cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.
  7. if Roy is gonna be in GB, then who runs his studio here in SD?
  8. I know I said I wasn't gonna write anymore in this thread but I had to address TKD_McGee. I think tloerance is an important part of Christianity. We don't have to accept others' opinions but it does us no good to attck these other people. Read John 3:17 "For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but to save it through him." I know your heart is in the right place, but blatantly telling people that they are wrong is counter productive to your evangelical attitude.
  9. I recently have been very interested in learning more about this style. I've heard it's a no BS kind of MA. Are there any katas in JKD or is it mostly for combat? If so, I bet I would like it.
  10. What would you say is an acceptable price range for monthly tuition at a MA school?
  11. That sounds good. You know once upon a time, I used to be fat. This was before I started weightlifting. However, I began walking long before I started lifting weights. In a couple of months I lost 20 pounds by walking 6 miles a day.
  12. I didn't mean to say that TKD doen't teach practical kicks. But Muay Thai frankly is more practical.
  13. I miss that show. Very entertaining. It could have used a bottomless pit. Just kidding
  14. Yeah I agree, Tae kwon do for fancy kicks, Muay Thai for practical kicks.
  15. Sounds like Jackie Chan in the making. Very comical!
  16. What up?
  17. Yoda, try low impact exercises like bike riding and swimming. You may find these easier to do with your injured knee. Hope this helps.
  18. It just dawned on me. Use reverse crunches. Lie flat on your back and lift your legs a couple inches off the ground. The moving only your legs, bring them up into a crunch position. Then bring them back to the starting position with your feet a couple inches off the ground. Hope this is understandable.
  19. Maybe I'll see you there, I wanna start training this September when I go back to school at SDSU. why did I think you were Australian?" Oh well. Hey, thanks for the info. Do you know what his prices are? It doesn't say on his website.
  20. Perhaps there may be pratical implications to breaking however, when you think about the trade off of your time you may realize that you could be doing something better. Sparring I feel would be a better use of time. Granted you already spar, but why not more if it means sacrificing breaking? Sparring is far more practical.
  21. Thanks for the advice Yoda. IS his school located in San Diego? Should I consider this a mixed martial art? Which is fine with me, I've always wanted to know more about JKD. He sounds good. If you have the time, it would be great if you sent me some stuff. If you have time, no rush. Thanks
  22. I am looking into training in BJJ next semester when I'll have more money. I went to a training hall of Fabio Santos here in SD. I don't know much about him other than he is I believe a 5th degree balck belt in BJJ, he trained under Rickson, and is friends of the Gracie family. That may seem like alot but has anyone evr trained under him or know if he is as good a teacher as his reputation as a good fighter suggests?
  23. Thanks jahred I was trying to major i something practical. It's a little dry but hey, it turns out I have a knack for business. I wonder if that makes me dry as well.
  24. It's not about knowing right from wrong or "being a good person." It's about salvation. I wonder how many people who responded in this forum have evr read any of the Bible. I'm not trying to point fingers. It is just a thought. On another note, I'm retiring my participation in my own thread seeing as how it is pointless to bicker and no one comes to faith through argument.
