I agree with Heidi. Try to move on. If her intention is to make you feel excessively guilty, then you can try to stump her efforts. It's not being insensitive...it doesn't seem like you have many options. Now, if you start to gain a bad reputation among the other students, you may want to confront her and ask her what's going on; ask her to be candid with you. Things happen in training. I once got kicked in the eye during a test, and it caused some permanent damage. It was a very scary experience for me, and I'll admit that for a while I still harbored some ill feelings for the person that kicked me. I know that I shouldn't have, but there were a lot of complicated emotions involved, as I seriously thought I was going to die, and it was an issue of complete lack of control on that guy's part. Over the years the feelings have faded, and I think that any ill feelings I have for him have more to do with his attitude in general than the fact that he kicked me. It can be difficult to let go of the memory when the injury still affects you...but if you continue to be a compassionate person (and don't brag that you caused someone an injury ), hopefully she will remember the way you handled it, and not be angry at you for doing it.

I'm going to move this to the Getting Started in the Martial Arts forum. Although you're not starting for the first time, I think that will be a good place for this post, because you're trying to choose a school, possibly in a new style. good luck, I hope your instructor gets better. -

How sick/hurt have you been during a test?
monkeygirl replied to KarateChick06's topic in Health and Fitness
I'm going to move this to the Health, Training & Fitness forum. As for myself...I almost always get sick during the sparring portions of tests, tournaments, and all-day sparring get-togethers. Combination of nerves, excitement, exhaustion, upset stomach (due to the fact that I know I'm going to get sick, so I don't eat that morning, so I end up dry heaving which just hurts), etc. One time during a test I threw up right in the middle of a sparring match with a 2nd degree. I instinctively put my hand (therefore: glove) in front of my mouth, because I didn't want the mats to get all disgusting. Then all of the instructors told me to keep fighting, so I did, and then I punched the blackbelt I was fighting with my nasty glove, without even thinking about it. He wasn't too happy with me. -
Happy birthday KF

This one takes the cake: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words. this is another personal fave: Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth As for phobias that I have...I'm afraid of the Law & Order sound. Sends me into a childlike state and I cover my ears, grimacing. :'(

60 minutes did an article about Bollywood. Actually it was more about their "it girl", who is considered the most beautiful woman in the world or something. Apparently Bollywood puts out a TON of movies every year, and all of them are family-friendly. The culture over there just isn't very racy, and intimate relationships are just that: intimate, not public. And everyone randomly breaks into crazy songs. Sounds cool to me.

Usually I find that over-laughing comes from nerves, or being in a new exciting situation. Basically the cure is to have more confidence in yourself, or just let some time pass and get used to things so some of the novelty wears off.
