  1. I think jkd is the best style out there. its simple effective and diretc to the point to take your opponent down . It teaches you that you dont need to block in fights just to hit at the right moment. best style EVAR11!!1
  2. Its funny you bring this up. My sifu is the guy in the dreads fighting with knives.
  3. Bjj . Wing Chun is difficult to master but once you master it well you will be able to strike or trap very well & from there you can finish it standing up for if you feel the opponent still packs a fight and think hes capable of landing you a mean punch to the head or something, then simply take him to the ground and end it there. Both of these arts in my opinion are quite similar and by taking both of these arts you will compliment wing chun and bjj quite well and apply BJJ tactics standing up, and also wing chun tactics like trapping striking on the ground with your BJJ . Judo just isnt ground enough since you already are currently in training in Ving Tsun so you shouldnt have to worry much about for stand up defense.
  4. Jun Fan gungfu-kickboxing is a mix of french kickboxing, western boxing, along with wing chun kung fu. I love the foot work.
  5. I do know that inosanto was not the one who spawned these seperate styles. Why would he want to water down JKD in such a manner.
  6. thanks for the input there. I was considering reviewing some savat tapes . i like the style and the wyas of side kicking. Does any one know any good fencing tactics sites???
  7. Yea i am taking JKD from the inosanto lineage. What other lineage is there??
  8. By this you are saying that aikido is a long term art? I feel JKD can also be a longterm art since they say it is good to start JKD when you already have a foundation, as which i dont.
  9. If your fast and the haymaker is slow you can trap him with a step to the outside. then work on kicking his kneecaps then end with one of YOUR haymakers.
  10. My JKD consist of the simple Jun Fan gung fu kickboxing plus Kali or Eskrima. I like how they both seem to blend in unison . I wouldnt say im taking concepts or original sinse there isnt much wingchun in the curriculum but there is a bit and we do have muay tai but they are seperate classes which im sure they pass along in our sessions as well.
  11. JKD is a way that focuses on striking. i know its not purely striking but i am curious to see what others have taken after being satisfied with their skills in JKD,like did any one move on to another striking art?? or did they stick to JKD or move on to a grappling art? discuss..
  12. JKD > JUDO
  13. I have heard my jkd instructor say that kyokushin fighters are insane. but i have yet to see any of their katas
  14. Im thinking once all in out is well, Maybe picking up another art after training a great amount in a striking art such as Jeet Kuen.Just opinions for a good conversation about whatever .
  15. Once saber tooth tried me at the top of the statue of liberty. i had no choice but to give it to him. -Logan
  16. JKD is great, the only thiing l find worth arguing is take a boxing class or learn thier technique on throwing punches . JKD punches are great, dont get me wrong ( i hear they are more powerful than a shotokan punch) but the boxers only know how to punch and they do it well. This will make your JKD worth every bit! Not that it already isnt.
