Yeah,I think I'm going to.Tha guy only charges 50 bucks a month,I really like Enshin,but I would like to do something more traditional,I may still do a few Enshin classes as well.How are tha katas in Isshin Ryu?are they all traditional katas?

I was just wondering if someone could tell me about Isshin Ryu,I was thinking of switching over to Isshin Ryu,because tha school is closer,cheaper and tha guy there likes to teach just to spread tha system.He said he dosen't even charge for testing,because that's tha way he trained.Any advie or tips or thoughts on this style will be appriciated,Thanks in adcance.

LOL,yay daddy,that made me laugh.Let me ask you a question does cross training in different styles affect any of your other training.Like last night in my Enshin Karate class,I told Sempai (a 1st brown who is testing for black next month so I figured he would have good advive) I told him I wanna cross train to JJJ or Judo,and he said he didn't think it was a good idea because I might bring habits back and fourth and forget which is which,What he said makes sense but plenty of people cross train,So I was just wondering if it affects you any? Or anyone else who reads this post for that matter?

Yeah,I really just enjoy learning.Like I said Im only 23,and am not worried about rushing through systems to get belts or anything like that.I just enjoy training as much as I can.I hope one of my children will enjoy learning martial arts as much as I do.My son who will be two in may,he allreadys tries to throw front kicks and punches.It's hilarious his mother dosen't think so but ya know.

Man,I feel ya.I'm 23 I stoped two years ago I started when I was 10,So roughly 13 yeard,I started smoking constantly and everyday around 14.Got up to smoking over a pack a day.This continued on and at tha time I was also an alcoholic so it wasn't rare to knock out a few packs a day because I was drinking,I also smoked a lot of weed,which made me smoke even more when I was high.This continued on for some years.Started getting my life straightened out around 11/02-12/02 around that time I quit drinking and doing drugs,However I was still an avid smoker.I started getting involved with my church with my GF at tha time,Were married now,and in march 03,I decided I had a greater will to live,and that I was no longer gonna pay a company to kill me.I decided there are much cheaper ways to kill yourself.So one day I told tha Good Lord above,I can't keep smoking these cancer sticks.So I layed em' down and never picked em' up again.It was on a Friday that I quit,That following Monday I went out with my brother(who was a smoker,even to this day) he was smoking and I got tempted,I was like man freak it let me get a smoke,I took a few pulls on it,I looked at it and thought how I hadn't smoked in 2 days,I can't quit now.I put it out handed it to him and said I don't want this junk.Not one cigareete butt had touched my lips since.It's been 2 years,I hope you can quit man.I can't even explain in words how it will feel to feel like your out of bondage.Good luck man.

Maybe I'll just alternate a little between both.I'm only 23 I have plenty of years left to train,and you^^^ were absolutely right,they say tha JJJ is specifically for self defense.Disabling an attacker as quick as possible.

I think first ya need to find out what kind of system ya want.Striking/or grappling art.Then do ya want an American art,Japanese,Chinese,Brazillian?Then we'll be able to help you a little more.

in enshin w e go: white blue yellow green 2nd brown 1st brown and then all of tha blacks up to 10th.

In Enshin Karate we do a lot of Gi grabs and throw knees and roundhouses,we do a few trips and sweeps that I'm told come from Judo.So I figure Judo is tha way to go.

I appriciate it guys,I think Im gonna try Judo,and ask If I can come in on an JJJ class as well though.I looked at a Judo website and didn't know that Judo incorporated so many chokes and locks and holds as well.I knew it had some but did not know there was as many as there is.

Theres a whole lot of through tha roof prices around here.I've seen places charging over like 120 a month.Some of us just can't handle that.

Why would ya want to go back to someone who abused ya?How old is this cat?Man it hurts me to hear this though(I have a little girl of my own,and can't imagine what I would do if anyone ever abused her)I would cut off all contacts completely.I'm an ex-womanizer and can tell ya personally from experience that it won't just get better all of a sudden.Your way to young to let some idiot ruin your life,and life is way to precious to live it being abused mentally,physically or sexually.God bless

I'm a quite experienced striker and still do Karate to this day.However I was wanting to work on tha grappling end of Ma's more so,and submissions and throws and what-not,Anyway there is a Dojo around me that has a Judo and a JJJ class.I was jsut wondering which you guys prefer,which you have more fun with.Thanks in advance!!!

It'a also known as tha no limit empty fist way,Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this style of Karate.I was looking to take a little Judo or JJJ along with Enshin Karate.It just so happens that tha nearest Judo dojo to me has a sensei there that teaches museigen kara kenpo.I was just wondering some background info on this style.

^^^ I liked Yojimbo and that Samurai Panda that came later on in tha years.Panda Khan I think.
