In my opinion, yes, the first well landed blow will determine the outcome. If an agressive person comes towards me, I will try to maintain enough distance where he cannot hit me without having to move forward thereby giving me enough time to react. If a fight is unavoidable, I will hit first.

I have trained in two schools of different thoughts when it came to students who stopped coming to class. One school would ALWAYS call when someone stopped coming and attempted to get them back to class. Another school wouldn't even make an attempt because the instructor said that in his experience, anyone who wants to quit is going to quit anyway no matter what you did. What is your opinion?

My friend teaches BJJ to young children but they roll only to the point of getting the best position. The children are not allowed to do submissions to each other, however I feel that it is alright to do submission drills as long as they are closely supervised.

I use linseed oil for my tonfa and there is no stickiness.
