I was talking to a friend who trains Jeet Kune Do and he was not impressed with how any of the stlyes do kata. He found no use for it in a real fight. He said that only masters of kata would benefit from doing it. He also said that kata was made for people to practice karate (or any other martial arts) individually and that people would benefit more from practicing the same striking and self defense techniques with partners. They would learn quicker and be more powerful because they are not only punching air, they are punching something solid.

Anyone who has trained with Shihan Bobby Lowe will have trained with one of Mas Oyamas students. I am unsure if they do winter training, or if the winter training counts, as Shihan Lowe is situated in Hawaii.

We have 3/4 length sleeve, but everyone rolls them up to 1/2 way.

Driving my friend home and always making each other laugh during the short trip. The flowers of spring growing in the garden- dewdrops, daffodils, crocuses. Having the entire family home for christmas. Warm sunshine on a cold day through the windows of a car. Freshly painted toenails. Playing croquet on a lawn that is way too hilly to be playing on. Sitting in a room full of people that you like. Cooking a good meal. Getting home on a friday and being able to turn the alarm off.

Yes, I also thought Lemony Snicket was pretty good for a "kids" movie. I thought they had some real tension at certain parts. My mother, father and I are going to see Million Dollar Baby on sunday. I predict it will be good. Very good. I like Clint's movies.

I have a fish tank! I have 3 neon tetras, an evil algea eater, an angel fish, and two cherry barbs. I have real plants in my tank. One of them is dying though and I think I'll replace it soon.

I'm pretty new, but the only competition I've been to I did not fight in. A couple of people encouraged me to do so, but I was a white belt at the time and did not want to do it. I watched the 1 fight that was in the category I would have been in. If I had entered I could have got third place as there were only two other people competing. Ah well, next time.
