For me, my black belt is just a piece of cloth. ANybody can have a black belt if they buy it from a store or something. I think more important is what you learn.

You're not supposed to wash your belt but I did when I was a white belt. I stopped doing that long ago. It makes the belt softer.

My champion team kata was jion and my champion individual was heian yondan. I switched (since I'm a black belt and doing yondan wouldn't look good) to Empi, which has been a first only once
