  1. From the T dot in Canada!!! Born and being raised.
  3. Swear nonstop, like your life depends on it. Make every word out of your mouth a swear until he/she apprehends you.
  4. LOL! That's priceless!!! It's not that funny if he really is learning disabled, though.
  5. LOL. I was just kidding. I tried to make a pun about actually hitting girls, but it didn't work.
  6. My sensei gives warnings and uses baseball terminology (3 strikes and you're out!). When he did this last time, the kid kind of smiled and Sensei asked, "Do I look like I'm joking?" He was serious and really starting to get ticked off. The kid must have been about 8 or 9. I think his dad was there too.
  7. I think it's better to do things like this s l o w l y. Sure, it's cool to do things fast, but if you really want your muscles to feel it, go slowly.

    Pain

LOL. To me, pain is an indicator that I'm working hard. For example, right at this moment, my glutes and a muscle in my back are killing me. Even though it hurts, I'm happy that I'm working my body and becoming healthier (though my diet isn't... *blush*). I've been in karate for six months, and, sorry to say, I am definitely NOT used to pain. I don't know how one can do it. Even if you leave a day in between classes, you'll still feel the effects from the previous one. Even if you don't get used to pain, I hope you'll come to accept it. No pain, no gain!
  9. LOL. Both, I would assume. And thank you. An interesting thing happened to me yesterday, though. While practicing Heian Nidan, I got to the nikute part and a HAI! came out naturally. I didn't even think about it! But I'm also thinking about how people tend to have a different kiai depending upon the technique. For some reason, in my case, nikute just calls for a HAI! What about you guys? What are your kiais for various techniques?
  10. Oh, man... What happened? Had you already started when everyone was bowing?

    Summit Karate

Yay! You go there! LOL. They're changing the logo?? Do you know to what? By the way, what location do you train at? If, like me, you're at the Lawrence Plaza dojo, when do you go to class? I go on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Right before white/yellow I normally see a mix of green, blue, and purple belts.
  12. LOL! Wow. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
  13. Welcome, Gunstar Hobo! Love the name! My sensei told us the exact same thing your shihan did. Glad it's common knowledge!
  14. That's really something! Glad you were able to salvage your arteries!
  15. That's awful. See, that's exactly why my mom hates cats. According to her, they're traitors. One minute they're licking your fingers, the next, they're chomping down on them. I used to adore cats, but I'm turning into more of a dog person now. *sigh*
  16. I agree. And it's dudette, by the way.
  17. LOL!!!! That's funny, DesertBeagle. Well, I've been practicing with a few kiais, though just at home, but still haven't found the right one!! Nothing really feels natural. I think I need to lower my voice when I kiai, make it sound more fierce. I'm sure it will take some time. For now, I guess my default kiai will continue to be, "KYA!" *hang head in shame and walk away slowly* P.S. If this double-posts, sorry!!
  18. Ouch!!! When I was 6, a classmate kicked me hard in the private area. Though I am a girl, it *really* hurt and I was stunned for a while. I can't begin to imagine what it must be like for a guy. When I was 7, I pretended to knee a friend (male) in that area, but actually touched him. Although it only LIGHTLY GRAZED him (I'm sure of it), his eyes immediately filled with tears and his face flushed. Won't be doing that again... (unless necessary... he he)
  19. Is there even that kind of protection for women, just like how men wear cups?
  20. What about the name you use on this forum? You know, "pineapple?" Is it because you live in Hawaii?
  21. I'll assume that's correct! Your turn again, Sam!
  22. It's great that you're so dedicated, Infrazael. Congratulations. Right now, I'm sorting things out to get to that level in my life. I agree with not fooling around in order to keep focus. As for hittin' girls... Oh, my! (Yes, I know what that means)
  23. Oh, wow! Nice graphics! Thank you for your help!
  24. I just have a lightweight cotton gi right now. Can't wait to get the heavier ones, though I'll have to wait months and months and months and months, and... Do you find it difficult to move around in the heavier gis?
  25. Yay! And oh, no! I haven't prepared anything! Okay... let me think... How many styles of Tai Chi are there?
