  1. Muay thai is almost exclusively about refining the basics.
  2. Practically, it is..... but Linxx is more marketable.
  3. Muay Thai!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Krav Maga is crap. It's simply a bunch of martial artists that want to market off of the conflicts in that area of the world. While there are some decent things in KM, there are also many methods that are almost suicidal.
  5. He touched on Jun Fan Gung Fu, it was mostly Kali and Silat.
  6. It's a mix of Kali, Silat, JKD Concepts, Brazillian Jujitsu and Muay Thai. "and linking the energy of the mind, body, and spirit." I think Cucci's opinion is that training in his system will help develop your physique and confidence. I think he mistakes confidence and dedication with "spirit". There is no emphasis on meditation or anything like that.
  7. I'm not so sure about the claim. I'd bloody a smile as sure as I'd bloody a frown. It's easy to smile and be confident, but that doesn't win the fight, skill and tactics do.
  8. I like to do pyramid sets on the thai pads. start at 1. at one, to one rep. at 2 do 2 reps......etc. got to goal, then back down to 1 again. If you pyramid up to 10, you get in 100 repetitions. You can also do double-kick rounds. 3 minute round of getting as many kicks as you can, in double-kicks. Have your partner attack you and harrass you while you try to kick the pads he's holding. YOu can also do combination rounds the same way, the pad holder will still harrass you but will cue you when to do your combo.
  9. You should give her a reverse punch to her gut! KIAHHH!!!
  10. So, I take it that you don't have evidence.
  11. Basic sprawl. Something all HS wrestlers learned, and all martial artists SHOULD learn.
  12. No, it's about techniques to trick your opponent. I watch Naruto, and that's why I'm informed.
  13. Phrost is correct, one must find something that actually has some practical application. That is, unless, they don't care about actually knowing how to fight or defend themselves.
  14. That, Draythorn, depends on who's kicking and how.
  15. There are modern-day ninjas, however, they don't call themselves ninjas. We call them special forces of the various military branches. They don't do all that much hand-to-hand though.
  16. I was born in Okinawa and lived there until I was 8. I visited when I was 14. I was in Toride, Japan last year for about 4 months. The subject of ninja is somewhat of a funny subject, and it's embarrassing to bring it up. Not one person I talked to about it think ninja's exist today. There were mixed opinion about what role ninja served in history. Basically, the public isn't a good source of info about the subject of ninja.
  17. Dear God, thank you for the boards for which we are about to break. KIAHH!!!!
  18. BTW, I've heard different versions of the ninja myths, from black pajamas to spies, like you describe. I see you are a disciple of the Hatsumi, so I'm sure my doubts about your master will offend you.
  19. I don't believe him because I haven't seen any evidence. So, you think you're a ninja?
  20. I you want to wear black pajamas and play ninja, feel free. I did see a Discovery special that featured a "real" ninja dojo in Japan. They grandmaster said that commanding magic was the ultimate goal of ninjitsu. Was that the same guy? My question is.. why do you believe Hatsumi?
  21. I dunno, maybe if you say something like stinking Jap, it changes the context of the word. I've heard other slurs that I consider more offensive to Japanese, like Zero's or Zippers.
  22. I doubt Dr Hatsumi is telling truth with his books. There are "ninja" around today, but they are simply weirdos that follow the mysticism and mythos of the ninja stories, along with all of the woo woo magic.
  23. Hmm.. My mom is Japanese, and I don't take it as offensive, neither does my mom.
  24. He stuck with pretty basic stuff. It's amazing how he can to the basics so fluid and quick that it looks like he's doing more than he is.
