Drunken boxing
HumanTyphoon replied to Gilbert's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Oh, I found out somewhere that this is how the Shaolin monks did the training for it.... 50 one legged squats on each leg 50 toe raisers on each feet 50 toe raisers on both feet 10 front kicks 10 hook kicks 10 round-house kicks 10 side kicks 50 push-ups They also did it using weights.... Weight vest of up to 20 lbs Ankle weights of 5 lbs on each leg Wrist weights of 2.5 lbs on each arm, near the wrist Hold 5 gallon buckets in each arm in an outstreched style Yeah, it's kind of hard, but I'm pretty sure, with practice and determination, anyone can do that drunken fist training. -
Oh and guys don't cuss, women hate it when a guy walks up and starts sayin Sh*t in front of them. Where'd I go wrong?

On the back of the Wheaties Cereal Box, it says "Breakfast of Champions"....since 1930...

Well, go in with a fake, and if he uses a back kick, or spinning hook kick, just use a back step, and counter with some jump foward roundhouse kick. Perhaps you can go with the side step idea, and then get close and punch him, or side step and then surprise him with kicks. It takes timing, and you have to stay focused and relaxed. Another note. Keep your eyes on your opponents feet, if somehow, your opponent has his rear leg shifted behind his front leg in a line, instead of a perfect 90 degree L-shaped fighting stance, it means he plans to turn around with a back or spinning hook kick. You can use this little strategy for timing your counter. Don't rely on it always though, your opponent might be smart enough to hide his/her back kick intentions.

I thought Shaolin Soccer was funny. Well theres this new Jet Li movie coming out, it's called Danny the Dog aka Unleashed said to be out in Europe or USA on Feb 2nd, 2005. Here's a link for the trailer... http://www.pcaopen.org/jetli/movies/avi/dtdtrailer.avi Here's the summary.... It's about Danny(Jet Li) who is raised from a kid to be a ruthless fighter, who doesn't know anything about life, and has the mind of a child. As a slave to a corrupt owner(Bob Hoskins) who uses Danny to fight in illegal gladiator style matches, Danny is also treated like a dog, he even has a dog collar. However, when the boss gets in a car accident, Danny meets up with a blind paino player(Morgan Freeman) who teaches him about life through the sound of music.

Whats your favourite stance , Why?
HumanTyphoon replied to Matousek's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I really have no stance, I stand and then get relaxed enough to do about anything. -
I like rap, and my favorite artist is Kanye West because he doesn't really rap about guns, sex, lies, etc.
-
So, in conclusion, it'd be better to not look only at the eyes, but around you. To be aware of your surroundings, opponents, movements, etc.
-
Hmmmm....I'll go try it out!
-
Heh heh, that is so true as well, you can actually get in a lot of trouble for doing that, especially if you do it to the opposite gender. Keep that part in mind.

I agree with the eyes thing. The truth can be clouded through a shroud of looks, feelings, and rumors, but if you look into their eyes, you can see the truth. Go ahead and look, look deep down, it might help sometime.

Hurricane Frances - Florida members: Good luck, take care.
HumanTyphoon replied to Kicks's topic in General Chat
I have some relatives who live near and in Florida, I hope everything will be alright for everyone. Yeah, as Kicks says, "Get Out!" That means no looting, no being lazy, no showing off, no weather chasing, etc. Good luck, God be with you, and take care. -
Again, thank you everyone, I hope to learn a lot here and be able to discuss about the martial arts with everyone.

Thanks guys!

Gangster rap is making a comeback
HumanTyphoon replied to wrestlingkaratechamp's topic in General Chat
I listen to rap, I'm fine with it, still getting on the Honor Roll, advance classes, etc. It's not really about what you listen to, it's about what stirs up the fire in your soul, for me, rap. Everyone is different. -
Same here, all I eat(most of the time), also General Tsao's chicken and pizza.

Yes, as said, a very big thing is to ignore and focus your will on performing your kata. If you can't ignore, just think of the people as friends, families, or some person you really want to impress. Everyone feels scared, but the truth is nobody is going to make fun of you and every one of those people are amazed at what you're able to do. Be proud of yourself and your skills, be determined and clear-minded.

Yeah, the uhhh..women's area is packed with nerves, that's why it hurts when getting hit there or especially when delivering babies. I feel a song coming up... It's true to wear a groin guard, whether male, female, super young, or super old, the only thing to protect against excruatiating pain is to wear a groin protecter. Dadumdadumdumdadedadedumdum...

What fiction book are you currently reading?
HumanTyphoon replied to BlueDragon1981's topic in General Chat
I have been reading a fantasy 5-book series called the Mallorean which is sequel to another 5-book series. Written by David Eddings, it's actually pretty good, tons of humor, irony, great war parts, action, drama, wisdom, and the very natures of man. -
Your biggest streetfight!
HumanTyphoon replied to GhostFighter's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Well some time ago, I was at church, forgive me Heavenly Father, *ahem* and this other kid just came in from the hall and just for no reason dissin' me while I was practicing a move or two and then just tried to hit me, so I dodged a punch and caught his kick, reversing him to the floor. Then I walked away. Yeah, but it's all cool, no hate or anything between us, and I know maybe fighting isn't the best thing to do, especially at church. It wasn't really in a typical streetfighting place like in a parking area, dark alley or bar, but the church was in "tha hood" area.
