  1. A sample videos of the Wing Chun TV show called "Real Kung Fu": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPNKlQc-9ZM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZqnBOm4q7k
  2. You can also try to tackdown a recent TV series about Leung Jan the wing chun master, played by Yuen Biao, actually is the same character he plays in Prodigal Son, in fact, i think its kind of a sequel of the Movie. I don't think you should have problems since it came out in 2005.
  3. INVINCIBLE SHAOLIN!!! it's a Shaw Brothers movie with the Venoms. its Not a FULL wing chun movie, it has many styles. but One of the main characters learns Wing Chun to counter his enemy Kicking Styles. It has training scenes like siu Nim tao on the tope of a pole standing in one foot!! and stuff like that. and its over all a good kung fu movie.
  4. I watched that one on TV and i tape it. The Karate Style is in fact, Goju Ryu. and what you saw was the Bunkai of a Kata called Seiyunchin. Yes, Goju Ryu do have close-range combat. We have a training exercise called Kakie which is a version of wing chun's chi sao, a sensitive exercise for close-range combat. Goju ryu covers a lot of stuff, besides the generic straight punch and kicks, we also use circular techniques, open hand blocks, join-locking, throwing, grappling, preasure point fighting, ki develoment. Goju is one of the few Karate styles that still keep most of its Kung Fu orginal techniques. hope this helps
  5. It had great action!!! I like it. It was like a prequel for the movies. If i remember correctly, Shao Khan defeat Rayden (God of Thunder?)kills all good guys and win the tournament. Something like that.
  6. To me, it's pointless to pick ONE great of all Time in anything. it can be the greatest in which period of time, in which weight division, in which rules and the most important, personal opinion, choices and tastes. but one just ONE great, i don't think so.
  7. Late 20's Isn't old!!! I wish i was in my late 20's now and not in my early 30's..lol
  8. Thinking about it... Norris have absolutly No reason to be upset for the jokes. In someways, those jokes help to gain some kind of new popularity with in the internet comunity and his fan. They came right when he was promoting his books and his Combat Champioship.. Im starting to wonder that maybe it was HIM who started the Chuck Norris facts.. lol
  9. Next Month the First Muay Thai training gym is going to open here in Panama. and They are going to do tournaments and all that stuff.... I'm 34 years old and I want to train Muay Thai!!!! lol
  10. Reach and weight are usually the advantages of the tall person. That's one of the reason i never felt confortable when I was in TKD and we sparred with WTF sport Rules.
  11. Hapkido or TaeKwondo would be good choices. As for Combat Hapkido, you'll get the information here: http://www.ichf.com
  12. As far as i Know. Most (if not all) Okinawan karate schools (shorin, goju, uechi, isshin, etc) do teach traditional okinawan weapons as part of the curriculum. Some of them even teach the weapons apart from the karate class, as a separate system kobujutsu with grades, belts, diferent kinds of katas and all that. In those dojos its not requiered to know karate to study kobudo, there are diferences in the basics stances and all that. The Japanese Karate schools (shotokan, wado, kyokushin, ashihara, etc..) Don't requiere the knowledge of traditional okinawan weapons. Some do, other don't... when i was in shotokan we had a kobudo class, but it was apart from the regular class with another teacher.
  13. Many, many spinoffs.. maybe its one more created as we speak..lol
  14. It will help your karate with a great workout, coordination, flexibility, and other things.
  15. Yes. It's from Okinawa. It was in Okinawa were Chinese Kung Fu arts were blend with ancient okinawan fighting arts and became what we call today KARATE. From there went to Japan and from Japan to the U.S.A. and to the world.
  16. I personally feel that all those old-timers, if they lived today and were in there prime, would still be champions this days.. why? because they were champions in there hearts, they have the will and passion, burning competitive spirit and i bet they would have train the methods today MMA fighters train...Didn't Oyama, Kimura, Chuck Norris, Joe Lewis, crosstrained with the tools they have available in there time??? They Did. I bet if Oyama lived today and were in his early or mid 20's per se, he would add to his karate and Judo, some wrestling and muay thai combined with his beast-like physical training, go to the UFC/Pride and he would be a champion today.

  18. Anyway, why bother on getting a black belt in BJJ if he can beat all Machado brother's at the same time with ONE roundhouse kick
  19. From what I've read.. Chuck Norris started BJJ in the late 80's or early 90's.. so, i think its a well earned black belt.
  20. REST IN PEACE GRANDMASTER!!! OUS!!!
  21. I keep wondering why this kids in there early 20's thinks they are too old for anything?? lol
  22. the Song's name is " You Are the Best" or "You are the Best Around" ..
  23. Don "the Dragon" Wilson movies... lol. As a matter of fact.. i think all movies starred by an "all Star" cast of retired kickboxers are bad. lol So far the only American Kickboxer that looks cool in movies is Benny Urquidez.
  24. I personally think that Tony Jaa should work with some HK fight Director. He already have the physical skills and need a experienced coreographer to look even better.
