Mmmmmmmmm, you could try acupunture? And there are pain relieving gels like Biofreeze, tiger balm, dragon balm. I've heard good things about glucosamine/chondroitin, it comes in capsules that's made just for bone and joint health. -
Have you thought about acupuncture? Worked great for me when I pulled my leg muscle. Also there is a warm up exercise called the cobra that we do in class, you lay flat on your stomach, both legs flat and behind you and gradulally use your arms to arch your back up. This helps with the flexibibility of your back and can help to get rid of back problems. But check with you Doc first!

Hey AT, there's no reason why you can't aslong as you are healthy. There are people of all different ages, sizes and heights in my dojo, heck a 70 year old lady just got her yellow belt. The hardest part is taking that first step, you're never too old and the benefits you will gain are so well worth it in all respects. Go for it!

Me? I take Shorei-ryu. There are some slight differences, but not many.

Like everyone else said, it's growing pains. It's normal and will pass in time. Start off slow till you warm up and gain more flexibility, again this will take some time, but don't push yourself to hard or to fast. And I'd be careful of ibuprofin, your body can build up an immunity to it if taken to much.

For me I warm up and stretch every day, seven days a week. not just my legs, but my whole body. Before I go to the dojo than again when I'm there. To me it helps get me limber and maintain my flexibility. Being limber and flexibil helps prevent injuries. I'm 6' and can nail a guy in my class who is 6'3'' in the face! -

Thanksgiving is great, the only bad part is how I feel after the big meal. I'm not much of a cook, so I don't do too much of that. Hech it takes me an hour to do minute rice! One thing it's got to one if not the favorite holiday for my dogs!
