  1. I enjoy the speed of double round houses does any one have suggestions in making them more powerful with out losing any of the speed.
  2. what makes fung fu so versatile and powerful means of self-defense. As a martial artists I found that the basic techniques are probably the most important for it is the foundation of the art and the others are the frame work that as a whole creates a house.
  3. oh ok...i still never heard of him he must be pretty good though...
  4. im not a great fighter...i just practice alot...I believe there is always some one better...I currently am not all that powerful strength wise I only bench press roughly 100lbs but my legs are pretty strong,,,i think the thing i need to work on most is my timing...as for how im so fast...mostly because im naturally fast...it takes practice and time and exercising the "correct muscles"
  5. I did not say "schools "m,any people mostly the ones who like bragging...do not utilize tkd's elbows, knees or fingertip thrusts and so on..." All schools that I've seen teach and utilize these things, though some may emphasize other things a little more
  6. Forearm strength also makes you grab harder as well...also when you hit with your hips it causes you to use your legs and follow through with your whole body! if you only hit with your arm and shoulder you are only using the top half of your body
  7. well done and well researched!!!
  8. we already pay for a won certificate...kukkiwon...lol....and its alot more than $50....
  9. actually the human body has changed greatly!!! People are now taller and many are have alot bigger muscle mass...though we still have two legs to arms...lol...the increase in size still means there has to be adaptabilities withing the art...but like I said wing chun continues to grow and change which shows its versatilities
  10. Yes. I agree, but a catepiller is not a butterfly. Wing Chun today is alot more modern than its counter part which it should be for if it cannot goe through the necessary changes than an art begins to become useless. Which would you rather have a ten year old computer or a Brand new computer?...It is like tree's swaying in the breeze....flexible and versatile yet if the tree is not flexible enough it breaks!
  11. Can Wing Chun beconsidered an ancient martial art? The truth is Wing Chun and all martial arts are continously changing and probably look nothing like the original art!
  12. lol...well thats not what I meant but what eva floats your boat...
  13. yes...ive seen that tape too it was obvious that even with the tape edited that wc had a great disadvantage...and that he was trying "not" to fight for fear of being arrested and he kept on slipping due to the floors surface and the shoes he wore that day...he agreed to a one on one fight but instead got a on on many fight
  14. Gung Fu is more than just an art in which a person does silly movements. It is a philosophacle journey to find ones self. It is desipline and hard work not only in the body but the mind as well.
  15. both would help you greatly if you are willing to work hard enough
  16. First off jeet kune do is not an art...it is a phiilosophy and is meant to be applied to a nucleus which would be "your" art that best fits your physique
  17. also the way your joinst move if you do not have a strong forearm punches in extrememly close distance will be weak since the tricepts and bicepts are most effective when fully extended
  18. also the fore arms protect your ones when blocking so its also a protective measure
  19. studies now show that a punch is not delivered with the chest muscles...the main muscles are the one in the legs...forearm...the tricepts....stomach....and shoulder and back muscles. it uses the same movement as when you open a refrigerator...the chest muscles will allow a person to push arder and there are many martial arts that uses puch techniques...
  20. To most koreans I've talked to the consider the side kick and the front kick to be the most important kicks not the high flying fancy jump hook kicks and so fourth.
  21. and it wasnt called the kumate...because that would have made it too obvious...it had another name but I forget...which means Frank Dux did lie...he claims its a government cover up
