Yeah the way he interviewed from how I read it seemed he had a big ego. Then again he could have just did it to get more attention for films and his career. -

Jet Li did first come in Lethal Weapon 4. He raised eyebrows. I know Tony Jaa has done that because the hype around him comes from non MA movie fans. He's incredible. -

I think Quentin is probably the only one over here willing to bring great MA movies to the US. I think it's good Quentin does this because it can get these guys exposure over here before they get too old. Jet Li really didn't get known over here till he was over 30. Then look at Jackie and the same could be said for Bruce. -

His best film he's made. Good parting gift for Jet Li fans. It was great. -
Jim Kelly?

This is good we got some more inside info about Jim. I read where he said him and Bruce hit it off well because Bruce was into the blending of styles and Jim was also. They exchanged a lot of things and Bruce was suprised and said, "You blocked my backfist, no ones blocked my backfist." -
I don't agree with that they are behaving that bad. To me they are competitive and want to win. I'm not diggin the show that much but I haven't missed an episode because it's interesting. The last two have stunk compared to last weeks, but it will get better as the heat is put on for points. I don't like the fighting or how it's scored and like I said above I try to follow with their scoring criteria and still see errors in their scoring. This is showing different mindsets of martial artist also. I've seen, cocky, calm, focused, cheaters, half effort, and giving their all. I guess you can take away what you want from the show but try to look for some positives.

Karate and Capoiera
Jbone1 replied to Goju_boi's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
Umm, this is where we don't do much research. You can't say an art is totally not useful for the street when you haven't seen it all. I'm in Capoeira right now and we have done some in close fighting. Remember Brazilian Jujitsu and Capoeira can go hand in hand. There are strikes, elbows, knees, and headbutts. Really if you have had training in another art before that has these techniques as their bread and butter you can find where to incorporate them from the ginga or within other Capoeira moves. -
This is interesting and I knew I wasn't alone in how this show is being ran. Even by their own rules the scores sometimes have me suprised. I watch it like I'm a judge using their rules and I don't get the scores they come up with at times. I think the challenges should be tougher. These guys and girls they pick are black belts with many accolades so they shouldnt' be strangers to hard work. So the challenges should be a lot tougher and be more of a penalty on their scores so Hans can't play around in them. Matt, showed the most skill and actual martial artist mindset out of any of them. But it seemed like he got cheated in his scores in his fights.

Where is the other thread? Well, I've been watching this each night cuz it's interesting and seems edited. Why does Hans go half...on all the challenges? I mean it's like he thinks he'll win his fights and get so many points he'll be in the top 4. I don't like the scoring because there are times when one person is dominating in their scoring criteria but is down in points after a round. My mind has been boggled a few times. It's interesting but I'm tired of people who can do show moves getting all the love. Also because it's a show you got to have someone homosexual, some girls, different ethics, and backgrounds. We don't know if the best have been chosen. -

Tom-Yum-Goong
Jbone1 replied to Drithen's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
Wow!!!!! I got mine today the fighting is simply amazing. I love how he does different things in each fight scene depending on the opponent. I'm telling you if he doesn't get to the American market and promotion something is simply wrong. He may not be a a greater Martial Artist than Jackie or Jet, but his fight scenes destroy theirs plain and simple. -
Martial Arts RPGs

Yeah they are real. You can tell playing them because they move so real. YOu can tell they put someone in the black suit with the lights on it to catch the movements. -

Martial Arts RPGs
Jbone1 replied to jedimc's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
Jade Empire has made up names for the styles, but the moves are real deal. It's more of an RPG than the others. I haven't played Sholin Monks yet, but Shenmue is cool. I'm still waiting on Shenmue 3, the story is definately not finished. -
