When you say homeless how do you mean? Anything to do with traditional parents by any chance?

Thats a fair point. This feel for what works for you comes from sparring. I have attended a couple of WC lessons before and was impressed by the usefulness of the techniques. How long have you been doing WC for? I think sometimes people can spend ages talking about well if you do this then i would do that and then you would do this etc. Spar and all becomes clear. The first thing i learnt is you cant plan.

Yes that does, I always thought WC was highly practical though.

what is your personal battle cry?
Mart replied to Icetuete's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Yes thats true but whether or not people do this is another matter. -
yeah i agree. Like it has been said many times the street is NOT the place to try and adapt your techniques. What the hell is adapting your techniques. I have done a few different styles but one of the reasons i settled on what im doing now is because there was no "i would fight differently on the street" I just think thats rubbish. in a real fight youl do what your trained to. In my case i know i can defend pucnhes and kicks knees and elbows from ANY angle no matter what angle it comes from or if i know the technique used because our defence is generic. Kind of covers stand up doesnt it with nothing to change.

Yeah the arm block to round kick is terrible. I dont think its even an argument. It can be hard enough to tell the diff between a mid and high round kick but to block like that is agift to any kickboxer. Why give them targets?

You have to be careful, in MT you just breath out fast and keep your mouth shut, Breathing out developes some extra power but the real point is so that your body is empty and tight should it recieve a stinging counter attack. On the subject of war cry, anything that leavs your mouth open whilst doing it is bad news. Taking a punch on the jaw when you mouth is open is game over in most cases. On a more serious note, you really have to keep your mouth shut if your interested in self defence as well. Its really dangerous to attack with an open mouth. -
hmmm..... that sounds a little odd, why do they talk about something they cant do?
-
yeah Id never throw a head kick in a street fight unless their head came down to a low level, i wouldnt throw mid section round house either, thats just dumb.

Im into real hip hop too. Like vanilla ice. Ice ice baby........only joking. I still listen to 36 chambers.

Monkey ......what do you do? I mean make up your mind is it Patty cake or way of the intercepting face? But really whats your system? And no cr@p about being inferior, girls can kick @* as well, you never know you might beat us all up. Actually I think it might be an idea to leave training to another time and see if we all get on first. Just a thought. Pub sounds good.

To thai boxers
Mart replied to Mart's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
I would love to but its too expensive. -
Thats not a bad idea. would be nice to get a list of our systems together. So far: Renketsu : Shotokan Karate Mart: Muay Thai Can others add, would be nice to see what we could be covering. Personally i would give 15 mins on clinch Knee work as i think this would be interseting for others as it may be a bit different for them.

Beka, thats really funny but also really serious. But the idae of the band setting fire to their fans and then the fans trying to beat them up is hilarious.

How would we use the dojo?

Hi Fenris just to say its good to see a lady doing MT. Its one that the ladies avoid alot. The more the better, if anyone doubts women can fight, even if its only in the back of their mind, find an MT show with a laydies fight on and be reasy for some good MT. Off topic i know but its good t make contact.

Aefi I agree with you completely. My point is to not be closed to the idea of developing your own, certainly not substituting one for the other.
