i don't find the food on the list gross. i'd prefer to eat intestines though. chicken intestines are great.

i started by age of 18. got my shodan by age of 24. don't regret you weren't able to start earlier than you did becoz even though you started young you'll still go back to zero once you hav gained in age. that's just what i and in our dojo think ofcors.

I too want to know the background of the Ishin ryu that you are aware of. would you be kind to tell us? the site mentioned above by the thread starter says that "ishin" means "one body one mind" is he refering to "isshin ryu"? isshin (yes, with double "s") means one body one mind and yes it is founded by Tatsuo Shimabuku. just correct me if you think i'm wrong.

ishin ryu? i'm aware of another ishin ryu, one founded by suzuki yoshisada. i beliv he is very much a japanese. tell me the lineage/ roots of this style.

i agree with this but in our case if your kyu grade and your absence is 6 months or more you go back to zero regardless of any reason i agree also but we are little more leniant in this case. we allow any dan rank to retain his rank regardless of how many years he is absent if he wants to take the next higher dan rank he better pass or he stays at his current rank. however if you are of kyu grade of another school or style and decide to join you have to go back to zero. if dan grade and wants to retain it you'll have to take the test. or go back to zero. i would suggest to go back to zero and get promoted thereafter.

we have student ranking and dan grades. colored belts to represent them are white, brown and black.

we hav to spar in our black belt test. it is compulsory. when i took the test 8 years ago i hav to spar with my senior. actually with two of my seniors since i swept the 1st off his feet just after sensei shouted begin. now those aspiring for dan grade get to spar with me.
