the japanese are well impressed by size. at least the modern ones. others are more impressed by traditional.

reverse bladed katana? or just unsharpened? really?

why do it tomorrow when you can do it today? i have always acknowledge aikido to be a superior MARTIAL ART the only art that could defeat my karate. but you see few aikido students now a days really grasp what aikdo really is. they are trapped by their self satisfied ignorance.

yes, its a great art and the principle behind it is quite impressive. i used it also in my karate "to(draw the sword)strike the enemy at the time he intends to attack" not when his doing the attack 'coz if you do by then it would be impossible to counter.

Boxing vs Judo
turonaga replied to MMouse's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
kodokan judo has been my first love. i think i could still do kodokan even when i'm already old. -
so this is how many months to 1st rank black belt? minimum years to shodan, 1 year and 9 months? this is in kyokushin? anyway, it took about 6 months before you could be confident with your degree of ability thats the time to promote to 6th kyu to 5th or to 4th kyu. in our system it averages to 4 years from 4th to 1st kyu. about a year at least from 1st kyu to shodan. just train train and train you'll never know how time flies.
