Ba Qua/ Pa Qua
turonaga replied to daeinwolf's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
ofcors thats a valid reason for me i've encountered a man who studies yin style pa qua chang and i really love playing with him. his style somewhat emphasizes strikes or is it becoz he has just adapted my movement. but its really enjoying sparring with a totally different style. -
Master
turonaga replied to sansoouser's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
yes, the throw was smooth the follow-up was not. his semi shut eyes seemed that he was closing his eyes during the randori gave the impression that he was relax yet firm. i wonder where Sensei Oguso is now. anyone heard of him? his kodokan. his ears already deformed from grappling. -

i don't see anything wrong with that. what do you intend to achieve or should i say why do you study those? what are the styles of the arts that you mentioned? how well were you able to accommodate each one to fit each other? i hope u can get my question. -

Wushu
turonaga replied to Icetuete's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
well, i'm one of the people who propagates and grooms fighters for the wushu sanshou. its an amateur sport involving punching, kicking and take down. one solid puch gets one point one solid kick gets one point. take down while the one doing the technique stands gets 2 points etc etc etc (i'm getting tired typing) but i'm likely to bet on them than bet on people who says they do not fight or play bcoz their technique is dangerous but gets no sparring. -
Fake Tai Chi
turonaga replied to Beka's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
tai chi in tournaments? does he even do tai chi? if he does what kind of tai chi does he does? do not judge and do not under estimate. -
well, i did judo b4 and soccer. help me learn body contact.

are all martial art take long before you can use it effectively? the nature of the art that is Arnis lies in the culture of where it came from, the Filipinos. arnis is designed for bladed weapons. i suggest you go to a qualified instructor of the art. to blend it with high kicks and long range motion is i think a bad idea. it is primarily designed for fighting i mean combat.

karate is not for everybody and everybody is not for karate. those that lose interest don't know what karate is. they are whimps.

Ba Qua/ Pa Qua
turonaga replied to daeinwolf's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
i dunno but if this is true really but from what i've encountered they usally start from tai chi but those who wants to learn pa qua usually are taught hsing-i as a prerequisite in the study of pa qua. by the way, whats the style of your pa qua? how were you able to advance or should i say does it blend fine with your yang tai chi? -
we have no women in our karate practice but we have a lot of girls and women being groomed for the Wushu Sanshou practice. but still male out number females in that class. don't get me wrong these females may look very attractive and u might think they cant kill a fly but wait til you see them in the mat. they are fighters.
