11 year old black belt?
-
well, we recently promoted a student to shodan. he's started about 4 years ago he's over 30 now. when i get lazy when sensei gets lazy i let him handle the class. i think older means more mature and definitely a good teacher. well, compared to 23 year old black belts.
-
well, its really simple to make your belts worn out u know. it wouldn't earn any respect until the one wearing shows its stuff. what's a worn out black belt if the one wearing it don't even know how to sweep the dojo's floor before practice. when my sensei's friend came to visit just last week for almost 20 years of not seeing each other as he walked inside the dojo i immediately knew he's good not because of his callosed hands and knuckles nor his deformed ears or the fact that his japanese but the bearing he projected. the humility in his words. we later found out he's 5th dan wado ryu.

well, accdg to my friend it was developed by tung hai chuan but nobody knows for sure who founded it. it moves circular motion etc. its much too complicated for me. i mean to learn and practice it but i've no problema sparring with it -

good! i thought gosoku ryu has gone soft thru the years. nice to know.
-
i have. by the way, don't picture me a saddist or sumthing it is just how we do it, loyalty and respect is of outmost importance for us if a student does not have such quality it is better that he does not join or else he will infect the others. dont know much about your culture but i'm learning.
-
in our dojo i'm d enforcer the whiphand. in our experience b4 the student quits after just two sessions becoz he gets to spar with me all d time. full contak all d way. i hate such disrespectful students. what do i need such students for? the other instructor a little lenient was prepared to forgive immediately thats why maybe our rude student was able to stay 2 more sessions after such same incident of rudeness. my views may not reflect the same view of my dojo or my sensei.

Whats everyone's favorite Move?
turonaga replied to Pepparoo's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
our elbow strike. have used it against some styles of martial arts ive come across with. -
ki is located at the seika no itten or the tandem. capable of infinite contraction and expansion can only be controlled but not contained by the mind. do you have to analyze all things? go back and practice!

full contact, no protection, all the way?
-
wait a minute where's my post? i know i answered on this thread. by the way, there are also other styles of karate and martial arts that practice full contact no protection all the way. i respect kyukoshin. actually i beliv its more on the system rather then the practitioner
-
I am inspired with karatekas who really cherish their style. just sad kyokushin karate practitioners are far from my place i haven't had the oppurtunity and distinct honor and pleasure to play with a kyokushin personally.

O-****?

i like sparring with tall opponent. if you go head on then youl'll really going to be pummeled. a mule kick usually takes care of my tall and "very eager to attack" opponents.

Ba Qua/ Pa Qua
turonaga replied to daeinwolf's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
i'm speaking from a point of view of the one fighting a pa qua practitioner coz i haven't practiced it. my first encounter i divided his "line" of attack into quadrants. try it you'll see (i just used "line" for lack of a better term i can use) by the way, all pa qua came from tong hai chuan but it was his students who propagated it and developed thier individual styles just like in karate where there are many ryu out there. right? -
