They should concentrate on all areas but kata and technique first and when they advance alot they should work on all four.

Sorry but no. I take Goju-Ryu
-
Then how do you spar?

I have noticed something. I take Goju Ryu karate and the founder of the form is Chojun Miyagi. I was watching karate kid the other day and the form that Mr. Miyagi is teaching Daniel san is almost exactly Goju Ryu. And his teachers name is Miyagi. Somebody working on that movie had done their history research. Do any of you have connections like that?

I'm sorry but it does not work like that. To true understtand meaning you will need a real sensei. That is the only effective way to be trained. -
You would probably consider me an animoroph or something. I hate to get into fights and I never will unless I have to. But once I do start, my oppenent should run or he will be seriously hurt.

To be more cordinated in kata you have to relax. A kata should look like a dance. Take it one step at a time. Be very graceful and flow through your kata.

In kung fu there is a system called Iron Palm. It consists of hitting bags filled with different materials for a period of time. After a while your hands become so calluosed that they can break brick. Easily!

Bruce Lee vs Jackie Chan
Joecooke007 replied to TKD_McGee's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
You're definately right. Bruce Lee was so small and agile that he could take Jackie Chan anyday. But in Tekken there are objects that you can use and Jackie Chan is an extremely resourceful fighter. -

It's easy. Just carry a remote with you when you fight and hit slow mo for an added effect. -
It all depends on the kind of music. Try putting on traditional chinese. It will relax you. And you will stay relaxed for the remainder of your workout.
-
My only advice is to relax. It will all come to you.

I do not know of this one inch puch that you speak of.

Hold Escape Techniques
Joecooke007 replied to TKD_McGee's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
In my form of karate we are told to find the pinky of the attacker an bend it back. If it were in a real life situation we are told to break off the pinky. If you are crosstraining take what works. It will benifit yuou in sparring. -
I do not see the importance of metallice sparring gear unless you are aiming to blind your opponent. It the shoe fits wear it.
-
Crosstraining can be good and bad. If you are sparring you will get the best of both worlds. Actually now that i think about it, crosstraining is not bad at all.
