Boxing vs Judo
Hybrid replied to MMouse's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
you just want to roll around on the floor admit it I'll admit I found it hard to concentrate sometimes when one of the attractive female karate students was kicking nicely Ahahahahahahaha. I just have to say, you crack me up. Hajime when he sees a female karate student: MMouse, I would go with boxing. -

KSN Doug has made a very good point. Some people aren't ready for it. -
Hey. Enjoy your stay.

Chain n. 4. A series of closely linked or connected things: a chain of coincidences. Chain punch: a chain of punches. Right punch, left punch, right punch, left punch, right punch, left punch, right punch, left punch etc. one after the other FAST.

Welcome. It's cold here too.

I don't know much about shorin-ryu besides the history. I know nothing of what training is like. I think the fact that you think it's great is really good. If it's everything (or most of) what you're looking for, go for it. Good luck. Edit: P.S. Both the poll options are "yes or no." huh?

Hey. I searched the web (Google and whatnot) and found absolutely nothing. Sorry. Maybe it's a new hybrid style or something? Or maybe your Sensei created it? Ask your Sensei.

over 46 years old. any one else?
Hybrid replied to quixote's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
A little off topic? Nah. I'm nowhere near 46 but it's cool that older people do martial arts. Although I don't think 46 is that old. -
I don't practice Muay Thai. However, did you happen to see this post? Apparently the guy juggernaut45's talking about has only been practicing for half a year and he won his first 2 fights. I've also heard Muay Thai isn't hard to learn but is very effective. I think the guy he's refering to (reyes) has previous martial arts experience. Possibly. I don't know anything about him so... yup.

I too am #5 the nonconformist.

Sorry, I don't know. I see no one else has replied so hmm... have you searched Google? If you're asking because you've found a school that teaches it; I advise you to call and ask to watch and/or participate in a class. Most schools will let you do that, and if they won't, I'd avoid them. Good luck. -

That website wasn't good at all for me. It listed 1 school out of the hundreds I found elsewhere. Try http://www.bushido.us If that doesn't turn out anything well, did you check your local yellow pages? Online yellow pages? Yellow pages are still the #1 place to look IMO. -
I agree with Goju1. However, if we are going by their website; BAD! BAD! BAD! That site is very annoying in my opinion.

I do! I do! Just give me maybe 5+ years to build my empire and I'll give you an even $2mil or more, if your price goes up.

Looked too fake. But, yeah, wouldn't mind getting rid of Microsoft.

I don't think he was "shitting" on any art. He was simply asking a question. I believe that his comment "how can it be "shaolin kempo karate"? that's like a "burger bolognase on rice"...." wasn't the best way to put it but, you can either enlighten him or just not post. He wasn't being disrespectful. Relax.

Contact sparring doesn't always mean "getting seriously hurt." Most schools use headgear, mouthpiece, groin protector (for guys) and gloves (possibly more like shin guards etc). I think a bigger question is, what do YOU prefer? Personally, I prefer full contact. No contact or point sparring is just not practical in my eyes.

Did you try searching Yahoo or another search engine? I haven't heard of these, sorry.

Can't really say. Depends entirely on the person.
