  1. Blue belt... don't you see? Just kidding. Good luck.
  2. Uh.. too much to list really. guns and roses - welcome to the jungle nirvana - in bloom nirvana - smells like teen spirit hendrix - voodoo child metallica - enter sandman metallica - st. anger (although there are some things I don't like about this song, not sure...) linkin park - one step closer (not sure if that's the title) ac/dc - back in black Instrumental stuff is always good.
  3. Exactly. Thanks everyone.
  4. Hey. I don't know much about Kuk Sool Won, but... There is a good article on Kuk Sool Won, right here at KarateForums. Click here to view it. Hope this helps.
  5. I'm not sure the idea of you overcoming fear (and that's what it is) is something that comforts me, lol. Getting into fights on purpose is stupid. Do you KNOW you can win against a gun pointing at your head? Didn't think so. Your ego is controlling you but your body isn't as stupid. If you get into a fight you should be able to react. Regardless of how scared you are. Are you really "freezing" to the point you can't move? Is this before any actual "fighting" begins? You need to learn how to control it. (It will probably always be there though, no matter what you do. Maybe just not as powerful.) How? I don't know. Probably different for everyone. Getting into fights on purpose is definitely NOT the answer.
  6. I thought you'd want to protest this, lol. Funny. lol. If I was that monkey I'd slap that guy. "Get back in the trunk!" No "thanks?" Whack him monkey!
  7. Thanks guys.
  8. Thanks for the info. Yes and no. It depends on the martial artist. "Jeet Kune Do possesses everything, but is in itself possessed by nothing." -Bruce Lee JKD is expression of oneself through martial technique. If you mean Bruce Lee's JKD, I can't really comment. [True] Jeet Kune Do is a philosophy, not a set of techniques or anything. So it's open to interpretation. My Jeet Kune Do has just begun... so it is, in a way, "unfinished." Hope this helps.
  9. For me, each class is an hour long. How long are your classes, CrouchingTiger?
  10. History of the art, what training consists of, maybe links to websites with more info, etc. Just general information. Nothing too long, a brief description is fine. Thanks.
  11. Hey, nice to meet you. Mind telling me a little bit about Shaolin Kenpo Karate? I've heard of it, don't know much about it though. Well, enjoy your stay.
  12. Yeah, please do. Enjoy your trip.
  13. Yes you. Just wanted to introduce myself... I am Hybrid. I just took up Jeet Kune Do after months of research. Actually, I have an old username on this forum that I used when I wasn't "involved in an art." i.e. going to a school and learning. (I wasn't very popular so no use telling you who I was, not that I want to anyway.) I'm probably going to write an article to help newbies like myself. Make it easier for people who know less than I do. Aside from martial arts, I like music (rock, pop, jazz etc.) I also like art (drawings, paintings etc.). Oh, and a little bit about me personally; I'm a male, 16, living in Jersey. New Jersey, USA that is. Looking forward to meeting all of you and jumping into some interesting discussion! ~Hybrid
