I will listen to my sensei. He advises that I sit in zanshin and concentrate my ki three inches below the hara. In time the pain and swelling shall pass. If only I didn't have to urinate so frequently. I shall keep you up to date on my progress......

Knee Blasts
shazaam replied to Ironberg's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
White Shark, why can't everyone just knee their own bag? Why run to another bag after ten kneeings? -

Martial art for self defense
shazaam replied to Gomme's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
If those are you're only two choices I'd suggest you go to the pawn shop, invest in a firearm and then learn how to use it. Otherwise, train at both schools and buy some tapes on ground grapplin' or learn some high school wrestling. Then when you have mastered both, open your own school. Good luck to you! I know you can do it!! -
Akima, Fragbot, and TJS you are all brilliant. I feel a certain kinship with you. HANDS it is! But remember the situation rules!! Kiai!! I guess the lesson is never let Tradition dictate how you should act in a reel fight.

shazaam replied to shazaam's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Is it true that it is a facade for real Chinese Kung Fu, that the style does not exist in the Orient? -
Try firearms.

Isn't actually sparring an opponent more valuable than breaking boards?

Why do you study TKD?
shazaam replied to The Saint's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I had no other choice. There were ten TKD schools in town and one Okinawan school with no child students. -

Jhoon Rhee was one of the stars of "When Taekwando Strikes". How can you argue with that? So what if he is the Master of McDojos? He is a living legend. At his age, he has a better body than mine. Leave Grandmaster Jhoon GOO Rhee alone. -
typically fighters try to kick too high hence the need for strecthing. High kicks are not very practical in a reel fight. Stick to lower kicking, do general yoga type stretching for total body and you should be fine. High kicking is not practical.

Not everything is working properly. There is a greenish hue on the first couple of inches and blackness on my scrotum. If this continues, perhaps I should seek medical attention. My sensei says it will clear up in a few days with Advil and ice as the above has recommended. What should I do?

Grappling arts vs Striking Arts
shazaam replied to lilolpete's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
You must learn to cover all ranges of fighting. At any given moment one style or technique can reign supreme. Open you mind and cross train. Good luck.
