  1. Being silly, sticking my toung out at Patrick because I said I just healed, and he said its been 2 months.
  2. I personally prefer the knockout gas idea.
  3. I say again, school instructors need to lead by example. I they show respect to their students, and respect to the general public, and require this of their students, there would be a lot less of that arrogant crud spreading around.
  4. Bon and Knuth, Be careful what you carry. It can be used against you. It can be held against you in a court of law.
  5. Oh man, I must be slow. I just got what you symbol is! That's cooler than I thought!
  6. Kickchick, where else can I be but in front of the computer when you write novels like that? Still, as always, you're right on the money.
  7. Like Sai said. It's not so much the winning or losing. What did you learn from the experience? Congradulations just the same.
  8. Oh Yoda, I'm sorry. I was trying to hack into NORAD. Just kidding, stuill trying to rack up the posts. Good luck.
  9. Hey man! I mean Mr. Man! Welcome
  10. Welcome, I just moved up here from Clear Lake 4 yrs ago. I still get a kick out of their so called "heat waves" up here. Oh my, this is our third straight day above 95!
  11.
  12. One handed for me. I prefer to keep one hand free for grabbing. I don't want to kill, so probably not bladed. Solid though, to defend against bladed weapons if necessary. Probably with a few protrutions along the lenth of it, for easy striking of pressure points.
  13. You are right of course. Another post - hana post - tul post - set . . . .
  14. How long have you had the first ten? If you have a little experience in there, you could put on some demos at local schools, summer camps, fairs, etc. I plan to offer discounts to local law enforcement, and multiple students from the same family.
  15. I was part of a Black Belt Club in my dojang, so I started long staff at yellow belt.
  16. I think you're right on the Tai Chi sword. I think its long, straight, and double edged. But I don't believe they use double swords. I think that's a different art.
  17. I'm the same as G95champ. I spar with open hands. Not just because of relaxation, but also because we have lots of grabbing/locking techniques. It helps me not let them know what they have coming, and grab or a punch.
  18. Yeah, I like the Coach for the encouragement. But we all need a little Drill Sargent to push us to become more than we are now.
  19. I think this question must be asked about once every two weeks, or so. The competition type is not all that effective. However, the "true" TKD is very effective.
  20. Couldn't agree more with some of these posts. Even a master can be an ineffective teacher. He/she has the ability to learn, and has fantastic physical abilities. However, teaching is an art in itself. Patience, the ability to describe something from a number of different points of view, and good verbal communication skills are only a few of what an effective teacher needs to have.
  21. striking_cobra & Arts_not_Brutality, That's why you need to learn all 300+ pressure points, because no one is impervious to very many. Bretty101 is also right. Pressing at a certain angle with a certain pressure will work on some, while others require much less pressure to activate. Too much pressure, in some cases, negates to effectiveness. This part of training is truely an Art.
  22. Oh man, don't get me started on 80s metal! Motley Crue forever! Chuck Norris in the early days. My first master in KSW, KJN Barry Harmon, nowadays.

  24. Survival: Texas Style Due to the popularity of the Survivor shows, Texas is planning to do its own, entitled "Survivor, Texas Style". The contestants will start in Dallas, travel to Waco, Austin, San Antonio, over to Houston, and down to Brownsville. They will then proceed up to Del Rio, on to El Paso, then to Midland, Odessa, Lubbock and Amarillo. From there, they'll proceed to Abilene, Ft. Worth and finally back to Dallas. Each will be driving a pink Volvo with a bumper sticker that reads, "I'm gay, vegetarian, voted for Al Gore, and I'm here to confiscate your guns" The first one to make it back to Dallas alive wins.
