Someone please correct me, but I thought Xenadrine did not have ephedrine in it. It did help me drop 18 lbs about 2 yrs ago, after a company paid project, that took me on the road a lot, fed me way too well.

How hard is it to break three boards at once?
SBN Doug replied to kchenault's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Nope, we hold them all ourselves. -
your first board break
SBN Doug replied to ZeRo's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
That would be rather difficult, unless there are metal fibers in the wood. Perhapse he could lift the one with metal claws and throw him through the board. Sharp playing cards??? I thought you had explosive playing cards. Give away your identities? I used to collect those books, you won't get one past me, unless they're relatively new. -
Top 10 Martial Arts styles on the learning channel
SBN Doug replied to Big Game's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I've seen it before. I think it originally aired a few months ago. I have no idea where they got the criteria from either. It probably should have been called "Top Ten Well Known MA's, According To Our Producer, Joe." -
How hard is it to break three boards at once?

Yes, definately well done. I'm still trying to get through 4 with a palm, while being held. I haven't quite got the speed+accuracy yet to overcome the give I encounter from the holders. Or maybe I just need better holders. Yeah that's it. -
Ahhh, now I see. The state of N.Y., as do all states, regulate what types of "sporting events" can have touneyments. If this art is not registered with the state, or on the "approved" list, then they are not permitted to conduct tourneyment competitions. This does not make the art illegal to teach or learn.

As I read it, I wonder how in the world it could have digressed into a history behind the myth of vampires.

How hard is it to break three boards at once?
SBN Doug replied to kchenault's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Yes, that statistic is for breaking the bone alone. It does not account for the padding before, and the cushion of oragans behind the bone. However, with a little additional speed, you can easily overcome those. For multi-board breaking, I would stick to you most accurate strikes. Spin kicks are great, but if you haven't practiced breaking with them yet, I would use something else. I like the two KickChick gave, plus an axe kick. Palm strike, hammer fist, and a good ol' straight forward power punch are you best bet for hand strikes. -

A very generous offer indeed. However, I think I'll let someone else enjoy the fun this time. -
Don't let pride get the better of you. You obviously take your training seriously, and expect the same standards from others. However, like has been said, not everyone is AS serious. Focus on your own development. Unless you crave the ooo's and ah's, then don't worry about him getting them. If you DO crave them, then it's partly your pride. As the lower ranks progress, they'll learn what's practical, and what's not. A couple well placed sticks durring one of those fancy moves wouldn't hurt either.

YMCA Martial Arts programs.
SBN Doug replied to HongKongFooey's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I've been trying to start a class at the Y, but I can't get a message through to the program director. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about the things rental space brings up. G95, what are typically the "rules" they have? Do you receive anything, do they charge anything, etc? -
Few, someone else that was more than a kid when Challenger went down. I was in the student union, at college. All the t.v.'s suddenly got switched to the report. Now I've had to watch two go down. Not a pleasent sight at all. I also lived right near NASA in Houston when I was there. I hate to think of the poor kids that were waiting for their parents to come home. Still, they are the last of the adventurers/explorers, in the purest sense.

Sweet. I may get that video! I'm not sure about the 400 pages of ancient history, but it's well needed. -
