At least that wasn't such a killer challange like the last one turned out to be. I must admit I still feel a bit odd about creating a challange that people could not get any of the answers correct. This is a learning experience you know. Playing is completely different that trying to create a challange.

Try keeping a log of what you put into your mouth. Put everything on it. Remember that regular soda has calories. -
You need to get your shoulder properly evaluated. Then a sports med specialist can show you the proper exercizes to help with your problem.

I can't believe it is possible to pass an undergraduate course turning in papers written in less than appropriate english. Or have I been out of college for too long?

The most common mistake I have seen people make when they first start doing shiko dachi is to have the stance to narrow - meaning the feet are closer together. Then when they lower there self into the stance instead of the knees staying lined up over the ankles the knees move out over the toes - which is definately harmful to the knees.

Attention deficit disorder and attention hyperactivity deficit disorder are not the same. My experience is with attention deficit disorder. Sometimes there are difference between boys and girls with this problem. Common symptoms are:impulsivity, easily distracted, hyper-focused at times, spaciness, inability to pay attention, disorganization, People with add tend to have problems: focusing on details, completing tasks, judging time, setting priorities, checking work for errors, waiting turns, interrupting others and acting first without considering the consequences. As far as how martial arts can be useful in helping someone with add. Hey any physical activity helps. Martial arts are particularly useful because of the way goals are clearly defined. You know what you have to do to pass the next test. You have to learn how to focus your attention or you cannot successfully learn or perform your katas. Let's start with that and see what reactions that gets.

Vinegar is a wonderful cleaning agent. I use it on my cavy cages and it cuts right through the built up "deposts" of " piggie pee really well. Vinegar is also a long time standard cleaning agent in the medical field for cleaning urinary equipment. Sweat is similar to urine.

People tend to have strong opinions about the tekki katas. They either like them or cannot stand them.

Just go in and do the best you can without over extending yourself too far.

I do my private training in a community room in the building I live in. After I set up the end of the room I use to my satisfaction, (usually just moving a few tables and sweeping), I leave the room and re-enter as if I were going into the dojo. Mental preparation you know. So when I go into the community room for resident council activites I have this bad habit of stopping at the door and bowing now.

Can Martial Arts be used for Physiotherapy?

Isshin ryu also uses fairly high stances. I found tai chi harder to do when I first started than I did regular karate because of the difficulty in balancing in some of the poses. -
A very simple hand workout that requires no equipment is to simply open your hand and extend all the fingers wide. Then close the fist. Start slow and build up time and speed. This is something that can be done while you are just sitting in front of the tv.

Karate vs Ninjitsu
SaiFightsMS replied to hobz's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
The discipline you are learning in karate will help you pick up the new skills if you do take up ninjitsu later.
