  2. your Wu-Name is Sheepish Lord of Chaos Use it wisely, soldier. That is how mine came out.
  3. You didn't say what branch of shito ryu you were speaking of.
  4. Tang Soo Do. The Secret Power Within was a very good book. The Kick Drugs Out of America (KDOA) is his program.
  5. I got my first pda so I could sync to avant-go. But you know the more you do with one the more things you find to do. I am thinking about to a project in Margi. It is the pda version of Power-point. I have done written descriptions of some katas with pictures interspersed with them. I want to see how this would look as a presentation on the handheld. The SJ33 is my first color handheld. The first was monochrome. And the appearance of things is nothing short of spectacular.
  6. I recently saw an article about a completely different way to do pushups that really does increase the wrist strenght. Instead of traditional push up bars the bars are just basically a t - shape. You hold the top of the t with the vertical bar between your second and third fingers and place the end of the vertical bar on the ground. To do the pushup that way requires balancing on the bars. The wrists have to be very strong to to them that way.
  7. The more I use my pda, (handheld computer), the more uses I find for it. Recording workouts in the weight room. Rather than drag the notebook around I use a program called handy shopper and enter what I plan on doing before hand. Then just check it off as I go. Advantage being I can design multiple workouts and have them all in the palm of my hand. I have always kept written descriptions of the katas I work on. I have a program that is compatible with work called Documents to Go. I download my files into the handheld and have them right with me. So I can mentally review where ever I am. Videos, this is a new use for me. Using kinoma player I load video clips of the katas on a memory stick and have it as a handy memory jog. Has anyone else done any work with a handheld?
  8. It varies from school to school.

  13. Actually if your belt is the proper lenght it should not be long enough to whack you in the eye. I think those who train long enough end up with funny gi stories. Also there is a way to prevent accidental openings - they are called snaps. You buy them at a fabrick store and put them in with a snap setter.
  14. Pick up a Black Belt magazine and look at the ads. I am pretty sure someone advertises a line of gi's in there in a range of colors including brown. Or they used to.
  15. Another simple exercise for hand, wrist forearm is to simply open and close the hand extending the fingers fully. Don't laugh try it for five minutes while watching tv and see if it doesn't make a difference.
  16. Most of the shito ryu patches I have seen include a fist in them.
  17. As you get used to wearing it while you train it will become more and more a part of you and less distracting. And as you wear your belt it will stayed tied better the longer you wear it.
  18. There are several different ones depending on the lineage.
