  1. Welcome to the forum maybe from time to time you will share some of your experience in posts here.
  2. I have been approached about getting ready for my next dan rating. However I fell I do not deserve to be getting ready because I am not training seriously enough and my sparring is not up to the level I think it should be. It makes me feel honored to be asked to prepare but, makes me feel guilty because I do not deserve the honor.
  3. :spitlaugh:
  4. emmm I hate to admit this but, it has been a while since I have watched the muppets. Could someone with more recent viewage give us a rundown on the varous muppets and what they are like?
  5. I have to agree with James and Kicker. On the other hand though it is a challange and we should feel challanged. Hey, I thought the zoo quiz was fun. It is nice to have a mix, fun and challanging. Then too if there are more survivor events to follow this one is also a learning experience. Our efferts are going to be a part of the history of this forum. What a sobering thought.
  6. Here is a link to a site that talks about traditional Japanese clothing. http://www.japanesekimono.com/. _________________ KarateForums Sempai Shotokan Karate, bo, sai Karate means a better life [ This Message was edited by: SaiFightsMS on 2002-04-24 03:50 ] [ This Message was edited by: SaiFightsMS on 2002-04-24 03:51 ]
  7. Fire ball throwing huh. Is that like when you turn around and light emissions of flatus?
  8. Actually I have seen about 11 different versions of Bassai Dai. And the Pyong Ahn katas and the Heians did come from the same root. Bretty is your po-eun like tekki or naihanchi?
  9. I went back for another look. Okay so I am a granny. At 22% I am easy going. I have learned to shrug off a lot of things that really set off others. Hey the world needs us. You need some one to balance out the more reckless among us.
  10. Seems like I just saw this http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=2605&forum=2&start=15&15
  11. Well yes there are other forums. Some I took a look at and laughed. A few I have joined. A few I have posted on. I do have to say though that this is one of the best forums. It has a very high level of participation. It is well policed and maintains a high quality of material content. Also this forum has a high level of partication from martial artists in differing areas of study (something few of the others have). Something else here is that beginners and younger members are treated with the same respect as everyone else. This forum is continually growing with new members and new experiences. Yes you can find other forums. But do you really need to?
  12. Well if I am eating specifically Korean I have to have bul go gi. And I have had the authentic dish in Korea. But in general my favorite asian dish is sesame chicken. Now that you mention it I do wonder how authentic what I am getting at my local shop is.
  13. The best resource for training weapons is usually your instructor. Or a place they recommend. I say this becuase when learning a weapon the best thing is to learn a solid base. It takes instruction to get the basice moves down.
  14. A split within an association where the off shoot didn't entirely want to give up the symbol?
  15. Time does change things doesn't it. Have a good trip.
  16. Yes EnvE. And you should visit the weapons area of the forum.
  17. I tend to agree with those of you who think a grand master would never bestow the title upon themselves. One would have to be humble and preferably have the title bestowed upon them by their most senior students. Maybe even be the founder of the system or the oldest and highest ranking participant.
  18. You may get a laugh out of sparring inside of stores but it really is not the best thing to do. Depending on where you are and how the staff reacts you could find yourself in big trouble.
  19. Try checking in the weapons area for questions of this kind.
  20. Welcome to the forum. Although Shotokan is my primary style I have also trained in Shorin ryu. I think family training is really great. It is a wonderful way for a family to spend a bit of quality time and do some bonding.
  21. Welcome to the forum.
  22. Welcome to the forum You should find some friends in the grappling area.
  23. Hey welcome to the forum. Hope you come and post often.
  24. Errr, uhhh, I got preoccupied one day and got the wrong container out of the fridge and poured ice tea on my cheerios. Pretty awful.
  25. Welcome to the forum Somehow you slipped by me earlier.
