  4. Depends on the fighter too, there are some people at my club who you don't go toe to toe with.(Excellent boxing skills) and others that you fight that have bad hand skills. When I fight (ITF), the size of my opponent has everything to do how I fight. Shortter fighters I use distance as a tactic using sidekicks and backfists. Taller fighters I tend to crowd them and jam their kicks using hand skills and jump away kicks.

I listen to calm things before I fight, being in the right mind set through anger isn't benifical to getting the job done. Being focused is everything, negative focus is not what you need.
  11. As a trdition TKD fighter, I would never compete in Olympic TKD. I love to use my hands and would not give that up for any kind of medal. The practicallity behind Olympic TKD does not appeal to me at all. If they changed the rules and allowed punches to the face, I'd love to compete, but it isn't so .
  12. 6'0, 205lbs athletic+ some. I fight at 188 lbs in fight shape.
  13. yes, you can hurt your back if you do them wrong, just keep you back straight. Try knuckle push ups on your first two knuckles it will help build strenght in your wrists for punching. After your fast sets of pushups try doing push ups at a 10-15 sec hold. Go down and hold the pushup near the ground for 10-15 sec. This will help build endurance.
  14. go with a heavy weight for training and a light weight for competition. I have a black training Gi and a White competiton Gi. The competeion GI is only used in Competitions and gradings. PLus has no yellow pit stains.
  15. How big are you, I'm around 200lbs and would knock it over easy. If you are working on speed they are fine because your not hitting it hard, but if you are going for power you'll knock it over everytime.
