here's a one that i do for back flexiblity....... lie on your back, on the floor with your knees up and heels close to your rear. slowly lower your both of your knees to right side and hold for a few seconds and then alternate to the left and repeat. trying to keep your shoulders flat on the floor. then bring your knees up to your chest and hug them. great for relaxation for a tense back or a stressful day............. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon [ This Message was edited by: iamrushman on 2001-10-02 05:14 ]

should young kids do a martial art?
iamrushman replied to kickbuttnat's topic in Instructors and School Owners
sorry all....i don't want to step on anyone's toes here.....but my feelings are that martial arts should not begin till at least the sub teen age (10 to 12) due to the need for some sort of maturity level.......coordination isn't the problem but maturity is. you can always learn left from right....but using what you learn on your sibling or classmates should be addressed. -
good luck with your quest..........

sir; read the post again..... i said you are lucky to live in the free part of the world.....and yes; you can say anything you choose...but if you do say something or anything; you must be prepared to expect a rebuttal......... .......even with these smileys there are at least two sides to everything......... _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon [ This Message was edited by: iamrushman on 2001-09-30 20:44 ]

i'm all for arming pilots and/or having air marshalls..........there is new amunition on the market that makes putting holes in the plane a small risk.......besides if it means downing an aircraft as opposed to downing the world trade centers.......i pick the aircraft, even with me on it. it is said that "an armed society is a polite society".............. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon [ This Message was edited by: iamrushman on 2001-10-01 20:15 ]

first; welcome to karate forums BORISCHOWCHOW (RAY)................ i don't really see a dilemma with your problem. if you are really interested in getting started you shouldn't let your physical conditioning get in the way. a lot of people don't start an exercise program because they want to be in shape before they start. but you must start to get into shape. we all must start somewhere to find the right questions to ask. i recommend you take the introduction class and meet some of the other students for their outlook. you will most likely be sore and feel awkward at first but we all started that way. flexibility and stamina is something that will come over time and not over night. so patience is also something that you will learn. with that said, i think BABYSTEFFEE's post is a good discription and a good opinion. therefore; you have nothing to lose but everthing to gain...............
